Where's my 1T girls at?! Oh wait, most of you have moved down to 2T! Seriously though, just wanted to say hi to everyone. Hope you're all out enjoying a long weekend for the 4th. I'm one of the lucky people who got to work today. Out of about 100 people in our office, I'm one of about 20 who came in today. Ugh. Hopefully I can leave early...

PG-wise, things seem to be going well. Same ole symptoms. Very happy to be past my first milestone and relieved to be hearing the h/b every morning. My parents were over for dinner last night, and they asked me to show them. They were SO excited! This is the first grandchild for them. They were so heartbroken over my m/c - my dad told my mom he didn't want to know when I was pg again until I was at least 6 months along, because he couldn't handle it. Ah man, I'm getting all choked up. Dang hormones!

Anyway, h/b rate question for you all. I know the heartrate peaks around 9-11 weeks, then gradually starts to decline throughout the rest of the pregnancy. At my u/s two weeks ago, I was 168-170. It's been slowly going down over the past 2+ weeks, and is now around 160. I don't know how quickly it should be dropping, so I have a small case of the PAL nerves going on. I've tried to look online for this kind of info, but haven't had much luck yet. Anyone know more about this kind of thing? If not, I might do a general all-board post.

Hope you all have a happy and safe 4th!

Hi, Amy. I know I'm not in the 1T anymore, but I was just dropping by :) When I first got my Doppler at around 10 weeks, my baby's heartrate was 150-160. Over the next couple of weeks it went down to around 145 and has stayed there. So, based on my experience, I would say your little one's heart rate of 160 is very great!

Someone told me that the heart rate is slower for a boy and faster for a girl - not sure if it's true or not. With my son, the hb was at about 135-145.

Hi everyone! I am finally back from our exotic vacation to the Poconos- turned out to be more exciting that we needed, what with all the flooding. Hope everyone here is well..

Teresa, I hear you on telling people- I feel like it's still really early for me. I did tell our neighbors (just one couple) at our bbq last night though because I found out they are also expecting - and also due in late February!! I got all nervous after telling, though. Other than that, I've told my best friends (the ones we went on vaca with) and my parents & in-laws.

I had a real scare on Monday- after being increasingly sick for a week, I woke up feeling fine. I was terrified and really thought it was over. We got in to see the OB, though, and she did an u/s- which showed a heartbeat! Yay! Still terrified but am trying to be glad for that and take it one day at a time.. I think if I make it to the next appt (in two weeks), I will order a doppler...

Back to feeling horrible today- threw up brushing teeth, thought I would lose it on subway, and am now sipping ginger ale and nibbling crackers.. gee, how long before my coworkers guess?? Oh, and strolled in 45 min late cause I just couldn't leave home if you kwim..

Any m/s survivors w/ good tips? I ordered some preggie pops online this weekend and have Altoid sours- those seem to help. I think I'm going to look for acupressure wrist bands again too. (I threw my old ones away) Oh crushed ice seems to help too...

TivoAmy, I am so excited about your passing your milestone!! Fabulous! How are you feeling? Have you had much m/s?

Still completely devastated for Coach Jenn and Katie. :(

Glad to see a couple of new PALs- yay Heather, yay PJAmy!!

Oh, here's another tidbit for you- we dtn last night for first time since ... uh, not sure.. figured I should take advantage of feeling okay. Plus, it was the 5 year anniversary of the date DH moved to NY!

How crazy is this? On Monday I bought a bunch of "fat clothes." I figured I am going to be fat but not really into maternity for a while and with all the flux w/ my job, I still need to look as presentable as possible. Wearing new pants right now- ah. So nice to have the extra room! Speaking of crazy, I was having trouble in Ann Taylor cause NONE of the shirts fit my top. (yes, I am already a buxom enough lass- and the added cleavage of the past few weeks is NOT helping) So I ended up confiding in the sales lady- not only that I was 1T but that I was PAL (!!!)- she told me she had gone through 5 m/cs and has a daughter. We definitely bonded. I am such a weirdo.

Anyway, I missed everyone- let's keep the 1T chat going!

xoxo

Hi there y'all! I'm still kind of new around here, but looking forward to getting to know everyone.
I am still feeling pretty good...a little nausea here and there, but only if I let myself get too hungry. That is surely not helping to keep the pounds away, but its for a good cause, right?
I had a bit of a scare with some spotting and a clot on Monday night, but that seems to have gone away this morning. Thank God! Other than that, my pg symptoms are pretty much back to regular...sore bbs and TIRED! I've never been a napper, but I sure am now.
I heard on another board that lemon drops and lemon water helped alleviate one woman's m/s symptoms...you might want to try that, Leslie.
I guess that is all for me, for now. I am still anxiously awaiting our first appt, 7/18.

Hi girls!

Ann - I hear you on not wanting to tell too many people yet. I've been scared about that, too. We told close friends and family, but DH keeps blabbing to other people (neighbors, his clients, etc.) and it makes me nervous. Can't wait til we're through this scary 1T and can shout it from the rooftops!

Leslie - WELCOME BACK! Yay, I missed you!!! And woo hoo on DTN! We've been taking it easy on that and have been very "gentle" when we have done it. Well, I gave DH the greenlight to really "go for it" on Sunday. It was great, but I had a teensy bit of brown spotting on Monday. It scared me a little, but thankfully that doppler put my mind at ease.

Alisha - I know what you mean about being nervous when you're feeling good. Crazy, huh? Hang in there, you'll have good news at your appt in no time!

Melissa - so glad Spot is leaving you alone. I hate that nasty Spot! And welcome to the 1T chat!

Only two more days of me hiding it at work. I've decided to tell my co-workers on Monday. My PAL friend at work is due the same day, and she's telling Friday. I'm out that day, so I'm telling Monday. I'm going to wear my "pregnant (not fat)" shirt at my boss' urging. Just see if people notice. My office is super casual - I don't think you could get away with a shirt like that at most offices! Anyway, I'm a little nervous telling a few days shy of entering the 2T, but I feel more confident using my doppler each day, etc. I also read online that the chance of m/c after hearing/seeing a strong h/b and measuring at least 1cm at 7 weeks (I think), goes down to 0.5%. And the main reason for telling... I can't hide it much longer! My tummy is really starting to pop, especially after lunch, LOL!
