Well, made it through lunch here on the east coast, though I really was afraid I was going to be sick at one point. I just want to go home and lie down!
Ann, I realized later that I meant to reply to you but said Teresa instead- sorry!
I'm getting a little ahead of myself but was looking at the babybeat doppler site today. which ones did people rent? The one w/ a display and recorder? Or just recorder? I am not sure I want to pay the extra money to avoid counting.. but it seems like the recorder might be worth it.
Amy, that's great that you're telling work already! Wow- I hope these next weeks go by as fast for me as it seems yours have! (I bet they weren't quite as fast from your perspective.. :) )
Melissa, welcome to 1T chat! We have to keep this one going- a lot of the (in)famous chatters have moved down to 2T.. I'm also glad that Spot seems to have gone away.. Hang in there!
Alisha, good luck on your next appt!
So today I am having general lower back pain - I didn't have this with my angel, so it's a new symptom. Anyone else? I still have lots of random twinges (wouldn't go so far as to say cramps), but I'm keeping in mind that twinges w/o spots and spots w/o twinges are both supposed to be okay..
Also, what about elevated temps? I am not over 100, but I am in the 99s.. just enough to make me feel headachy. wah wah wah.
I am clearly in a whiny mood, so I think I'll stop there! :)
Yay PJAmy- welcome to PAL & 1T chat!! So glad to see you here! So I have a question- is there anyone out there w/ full on throwing up m/s who has to work full time? I had to call in sick today (not a very good thing after being on vaca all week last week, plus there are two new people starting today), but I've been throwing up all a.m. and just cannot get on the subway! I might try to go in later if I feel better, but this is awful!
Thanks for all the tips (ginger snaps & ginger altoids, next stop!)
Thanks to all of you for the support over the last couple of days. It was such a relief to see the heartbeat and talk to my NP. Plus no pelvic exam! Yippee! I just had a pap smear and a pelvic exam so they didn't have to do one.
That appointment took a lot out of me! We went out to lunch yesterday and then went to Walmart. I got hit with an awful wave of m/s while we walked around the store. When we got home I slept for 3 1/2 hours!
The heat really bothers me. It has been so hot here (upper 90's with a heat index of over 100!) Luckily the temperature is coming down a little. It only hit the upper 80's yesterday. We head for the beach today so I'm really going to have to watch it. My hubby and in-laws are really heat sensitive too. They are from Ireland and are just not used to it so we'll probably lie low in the heat of the day. I just wanted to check in with you guys because I won't be posting again for a few days.
Ann-I know what you mean about telling people. I finally told my sisters this week! I'll tell my boss in August, but I'm not telling anyone else until I start to show and it becomes obvious. This is my intention anyway. I have been a real blabber-mouth about this in the past and a lot of people at work know I'm trying so we'll see. I don't go back until the last week of August so I may decide I am far enough along by then to tell people.
Amy- Good for you about telling your co-workers! The t-shirt sounds like a cute idea. It is so great that you have someone at work to share your experience with. I think that I am going to get a doppler. You seem to have had such a good experience with yours. My m/c was a missed one and I only found out when I went in for my appt. and there was no hb so I think the doppler would really put my mind at ease.
Alisha-Good luck on your appointment.
Leslie-Yay! We're due date buddies! I'm glad your back. I was getting worried about you. I'm glad everything is okay.
Melissa-I hear you on the eating thing. Eating small amounts frequently seems to be the only thing to keep m/s at bay, but my clothes are getting seriously tight. It's too early to be baby so I think I need to start watching the quality of what I am putting in my mouth.
Nina-I'm getting the waves of m/s too. Every sign of pregnancy is a relief, but I've said it and I'll say it again: I'll take bigger bbs any day over m/s.
Jen-I'm so glad you still post here even though you are 2T. You're awesome!
Leslie- We cross posted. I am so sorry you are feeling so yucky. I haven't been throwing up, but I did with my last pregnancy. Fortunately, once I thew up I felt better and was able to go to work. Have you talked to your doc? I told my NP yesterday that I was feeling really queasy and she asked if I needed anything for it, so there may be something your doc can give you. Have you tried acu pressure bands? I've never used them but I've heard they really help some people. Feel better and take it easy.
hello again, ladies- well, I made it in to work (finally!) around 12.30 today. I just couldn't leave while I was actively sick and wanted to stay home til I was able to eat and keep down at least a few crackers. I did stop by the drugstore for some seabands on the way in though - they look lovely! I am sure everyone knows as of today but I'm not admitting anything til later! Ann, is it you who takes a bus? Yeah, there's just something 10x worse about the idea of being sick on public transportation.. just not the same as being in your own car or something. Cabbies don't especially appreciate it either. Not to mention the fact that I'd be afraid they'd make me get off the subway..
The dreaded new seating took effect today, and it is really bad. My back is to both my bosses and their admin. Oh and I'm also right next to the printer and the shredder. So I really shouldn't be on here at all, but ... ! Another bad thing is that the two new guys I sit next to are smokers- and they really smell. Sorry if I am offending anyone, but I'm hoping none of you smoke (!). I am just really sensitive to smells right now, and it's coming off them in waves. How obnoxious am I- I sprayed a little perfume on a post-it that I keep sniffing from time to time. I know- really bad. I will try to tone it down!
Ann- that sounds like a pain w/ your coworker! What happens if he doesn't get it done by the end of the week? But so great about your friend! I told another friend today (I'm seeing her on Saturday for her birthday)- it is nice when they're really excited for us, isn't it?
Teresa, I agree re hating the heat! I am constantly craving ice chips or ice cream or slushies or something. anything cold! I told DH today I wished it would snow!
Here's my latest "does anyone else have this" question: anyone else having cervical mucous? I would think I was ovulating if I didn't know that wasn't possible!
Okay, better go- good luck at your 2nd u/s, by the way, Sandi!!! Can't wait for your update!
