Hi all!! I am finally joining you guys here in the 1T chat....before I go on, thanks you guys for your support and help for my silly question a couple days ago-I just get freaked out about everything it seems!!!
Well, we went to the dr. yesterday and had the first u/s. I am only 5w2d so we knew we wouldn't see much, but my dr. wanted to do one anyway just to check. We saw the gestational sac which was measuring 7mm, and my dr. said he was glad about that, since the last time I was prego and he did the u/s at 5w1d, the sac only measured 2mm, and that was when he started to worry. He said it is a good sign that at the same time it is a whole 5 mm bigger. I asked him if it was bad that there was nothing visible inside the sac yet, and he said no since it is still really early. So I will go back in 4 weeks so we can see if we can hear a heartbeat. Of course, I probably will not get any sleep until then!!
I have a question....is it okay if my bbs are not all that sore anymore? They have hurt like crazy for the past week, and the all of the sudden yesterday they were only slightly tender. I was really freaked out, but when I woke up in the middle of the night, they hurt again. Now, today, they are only slightly sore AGAIN! Is something wrong or has that happened to anyone else? I have no m/s as of yet, but I really wish my bbs would keep hurting so I'd know everything was okay. What do you girls think????
Leslie – I am so relieved that you were able to get into your doctor so quickly and they were able to give some answers and some peace!
Amy – so happy that you are mere days away from the 2T, I still remember your BFP on TTCAM, I hope you reach a point soon that helps quiet those PAL fears (does that point really exist?!)
Elizabeth – welcome, my bbs are super sore some days and much more manageable others, I think it is just one of those pregnancy things that changes all the time to drive you crazy
everyone - hope you are all having a great Tuesday! I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow - I will let you know how it goes!
Ann - I just want to hug your puppy! Hope his tail is doing better. But it sure had to be cute seeing him have all that fun.
Amy - I can't believe you're almost to 2T! How did the T-shirt annoucement go over at work? Anyone NOT notice it?
Leslie - yay for doc being a good guy/girl and getting you in. And BIG YAY for baby being good!
Heather - I'm anxiously awaiting the update from you appointment tomorrow.
I'm an aunt again! My SIL just had a 7# something (grandpa didn't know the ounces) baby girl earlier this afternoon. Not too bad - 12 hours of labor for a 1st baby that was induced! Mom and Abigail Elizabeth are doing well. I told BIL that I was announcing to everyone that she's named after me (middle name is the same as mine) even though I know it is her mom's middle name too. At least I'll be secondary. I'm hoping that I feel up to visiting them tomorrow. Any good suggestions as to what to get for them? They didn't register anywhere and they keep forgetting to tell me what they still need/want.
Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I went to the beach last week and had a great time. Weather was great-not too hot and DS loved the sand. My in-laws are still visiting and we have been busy doing things together. My m/s is now all day long and the only thing that makes me feel better is to lie down so any extra time I have is spent in bed and not at my computer. I bought sea-bands but I don't think they are helping very much and they kind of hurt my arms. But hey at least it distracts me from the nausea. I'm not throwing up but the nausea is really frequent. BBs are starting to feel different too. They don't hurt but they are kind of tingly when I take off my bra. Mine were really sore and huge with my first. Well that's pretty much it for me. I may not post again for a couple of days, so have a great week everyone!
Leslie-I'm sorry to hear that you had a scare, but I'm really glad everything is okay.
Teresa (sosurreal)-Nice to meet another Teresa on the board. Glad to hear everyting went well with the CVS testing.
Alisha-Glad you're feeling better.
Ann-Give your puppy a hug for me;)
Julie-I'm sorry your Doppler is giving you so much trouble; that must be really frustrating. I hope it starts to be more consistent for you.
Melissa - I hear you about the symptoms. I am beat, but I can't sleep for very long. I'm really uncomfortable too. I'm a back sleeper and I know that I am supposed to be sleeping on me left side, but that is extremely uncomfortable for me. I remember after I had my DS being so excited to sleep on my back again (not that I slept for long with an infant in the house.) I hope we both start feeling better soon.
Amy-Glad to hear you're getting your early u/s.
Elizabeth - Welcome! Glad to hear everything went well with your first u/s. I know it's hard to wait. I think it can be normal for symptoms to come and go. With my first pregnancy my nausea was like that. Not so this time, darn it!
Heather- Glad to hear that you got a midwife in the group that you wanted. Good luck on your appt. tomorrow.
Amy(iluvtivo)- Congrats on almost being in the 2T. I know what you mean about not feeling secure until you pass the milestone from your last pg (when you found out the baby had died). My m/c was really similar: the baby died at 11.5 weeks and I found out at 13. I know I won't rest easy until I pass 13 weeks. I'm glad it is soon for you. Are you showing yet? Good for you about buying the maternity clothes. I have a bunch from my pg with DS but the seasons are opposite so I may need to buy a few things. I have been too superstitious to buy anthing yet, but it is tempting.
I am feeling, yet again, about the same today. The sleeping thing seems to be getting worse, though. I napped yesterday afternoon for about an hour and I couldn't fall asleep last night. I finally sucked it up and put myself to bed at around 11pm...I don't think I really fell asleep till DH joined me at around midnight. Then I tossed and turned most of the night until I got up to pee at 4am. I think I finally got in a deep sleep (crazy dreams and all!!) and then it seems the alarm went off. Ugh, it was all I could do to get out of bed this morning. So, really, I am so exhausted all the time...then why can't I sleep at night? This was not the case with my previous pregnancy. I also didn't feel this sick all the time. Hmm...any insight is appreciated, of course.
Ann~I am sorry to hear that you are feelinge exhausted today, as well. Hopefully you will get lucky with your nap plan!
I had my first appointment today with my midwife - she was great! My last midwife had sort of a parental vibe to her and I never really felt that I could talk to her. I am very excited. I have another appointment in 3 weeks so I will look forward to that. I have been having a little bit of pain in my lower left abdomen last night and today that is making me nervous, but I have IBS and I think it is more likely that instead of anything pregnancy related but I am going to keep an eye on it.

Elizabeth - welcome to chat, great to have you!
Sorry I’ve been so behind on posting! Between vacay and getting caught up at work, I have only been able to respond with quick posts here and there.
