Hi, girls. I'm just starting a new chat thread for you this week.
Also, while I have your attention, I hope those of you who are nearing the end of the 1T will sign up for the upcoming virtual shower. I'd love to have you participate :) Details are in the "Chit Chat" Section.
Well, this will probably be my last post for a while. My parents are coming in at 6pm today and I have a lot left to do to get ready for them...like fold three weeks worth of laundry and buy food for dinner tonight, LOL. Anyway, I will be checking in from time to time, but probably won't have a chance to post until they leave on the 31st. So, here's a preemptive good luck and best wishes till I get back!! :)
I am feeling ok today, accept for the constant nausea, of course. My sleeping situation seems to have gotten better and I am definately feeling more well rested when I wake up, thank goodness! I guess its just a few more weeks till I enter the 2T...hopefully the nausea fairy will have left by then. ;)
Ann~ Sorry to hear that you are feeling less than positive today. I hope things start to look up for you soon, though. I'll be thinking about you!
Alisha~ I am slowly converting my closet into maternity wear...I have only a few "normal" clothes that I can still wear without looking just plain ol' fat. LOL. The maternity clothes are so comfy it is hard to resist already...and I'm only 9 wks!
Well, my mental health u/s yesterday went beautifully. It was amazing how much more we were able to see at 9 weeks. The last time it kind of just looked like a blob with a heartbeat. (A beautiful, wonderful little blob!) This time we could clearly see head and arms and legs. We could even see the two hemispheres of the brain. The tech was also able to show us the umbilical cord. The machine they used was new and she said it had wonderful resolution. The baby measured 9 wks 3 days which is a little ahead of my dates and she said the heart rate was good. I saw my OB aferwards and she was really please for me. I see her again in 3 weeks and that will get me past the milestone of when the baby died in the last pregnancy. I asked her about sleep postion and she said that unless you have pregnancy complications you can sleep whatever way makes you comfortable. Hurray! I slept on my back last night with a clear conscience and it was wonderful! I asked the nurse about dopplers and she said that she would not advise anyone to get one this early, because it was so hard to find the heartbeat. She doesn't reccomend it until after 20 wks! What?!? That is so far away and hopefully I will be feeling the baby move by then. Still, she gave me directions on how to find the heartbeat with the doppler. She must know that I might not listen to her! I'm really undecided about getting a doppler. I'm afraid I will just drive myself nuts with it if I can't find the heartbeat right away. If I do get one I will probably wait until they find it in the doctor's office so I can watch them and hear what it sounds like and know for sure that I should be able to find it.
Fun plans for the weekend? I have to go the Home Depot and buy new doorknobs for all of the doors in my house, the kind with no lock. My DS now thinks it is hilarious to lock me out of rooms. Unfortunately, he doesn't understand that he is also locking himself in! He can push the lock button on the door knobs, but he can't turn the handle to let himself out. Yesterday my mom, who was babysitting stepped outside the door to our house for a minute and he slammed the door behind her locking her out. Luckily I got there quickly and opened the door. Then he locked himself in our bathroom. Our house is old and it is hard to jimmy the lock on the door so my husband had to kick it in. AAAAAAACCCCCCCCKKKKKK! As if my day had not already been stressful enough worrying about the ultrasound! When I couldn't get the bathroom door open I burst into tears! We are definitely into the terrible twos! He is such a little stinker, but I just love him to death.
I am feeling so much better. I still get tired out easily, but I am starting to get a little energy back. As long as I don't overdo it I'm okay. I haven't had any nausea for a while. Then today at the grocery store I smelled something that just made me want to heave. I got to a different section of the store pretty quickly and felt better.
That sounds like a great u/s Teresa! Now you can rest a bit! Question though- how do you sleep in with a two year old? Mine is 2.5 and is up every morning at 6 no matter what. Yuck. Plus he must have traded notes with your ds because mine does the door locking thing too. Luckily all our house doors are the same inside and out (what were they thinking) and we can open t he doors with the same key as we use outside as in. So no locking us out. And our garage door has a keypad if he decided to lock us out without keys. Terrible twos are fun!
I have to attend a cousins baby shower this weekend which I am not looking forward to but Sunday I get to work in the garden which I am looking forward to.
Sleep in? What's that? My DS is usually up at 6a.m. as well, but he naps like a champ. I can usually put him down at 10 a.m. for an hour or two and I can usually get a nap too! Sometimes he'll even go down for an afternoon nap. Have fun with your garden.

Just saying "Hi"!
Rebecca - I am also a programmer who works from home. And posting here is not productive :-) I have been very unproductive lately.
I look forward to getting to know all of you!
