Ok to sleep on stomach?

This is probably a REALLY stupid question.....I sleep on my stomach all the time, but just the other night I suddenly thought....what if I'm not supposed to be doing this? So I have tried not to the past couple nights but it is hard when I am so used to it! Anyone know? Thanks :)
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, that's not a stupid question (or if it is, then we can be stupid together because I wondered the same thing! LOL!). I think they say that it's safe for as long as it's comfortable or until week 15. I know I remember at around 15 weeks they want to stop sleeping any way other than on your side. It is hard but you get used to it. I was a total belly sleeper also and miss those days but they'll be back eventually.
I am so glad someone asked this question! This is my second pg, and I am a total back sleeper. When I was pg with DS I was really paranoid about sleeping on my back, but sleeping on my side was uncomfortable. I eventually found a good position propped up on pillows which helped with my acid reflux too. But I was wondering when sleeping on your back became a real no-no. I do remember when it became uncomfortable the last time. It would make me really short of breath. That was probably somewhere late in the 2T or early 3T. I also gained a lot of weight with that pg so I'm sure that factors in too.

My doc told me that my body would let me know when it was time to switch to my side.
Thanks girls!!!

I never asked my dr about this but I was able to sleep on my tummy my entire pregnancy with DD.
