Hello all,
I'm a newbie here. I am just now starting to let myself commit to this pregnancy. I even went down in my basement and took inventory of my maternity clothes as kind of a good faith thing. I am so anxious about seeing my babies heartbeat that I can barely stand it. It seems like time is standing still until that appt. My last m/c the baby was 9 wks 2 days so I won't be able to relax until I at least make it past that point. I am most definitely renting a doppler after my u/s assuming things go well. So far my HCG has doubled and my progesterone is at 17.10. I am really praying for viability this time! My OB's office wasn't very understanding about me wanting my 1st appt. to be at 6 weeks even though the Dr. told me I could be seen that early. I hope they will be more sensitive! At any rate, it's good to be here!!
Aimee
P.S. How early did you guys have your 1st ultrasound and did you see the HB? Thanks!

Hey all!

It's my last day of freedom, so I thought I should stop by. Gotta go back to work tomorrow. But DH is being a pain, so I don't know how much I'll get done at work since I can't move the desks or file cabinets on my own any more! Plus my wrist is acting up again. And these braces don't seem to be helping.

I did go to a baby shower for a friend of mine yesterday. I haven't seen her since she found out she was pg, now she's 34 weeks! I avoided her after the m/c, but we're good now. She got a lot of cute stuff. But why do so many people NOT buy stuff off the registry? DUH, you register for the stuff you want/need, then those people go off and buy something totally different. I'll never get it.

Alisha - I'll be joining you in 2T later this week! I'm officially there on Wednesday, but he's measuring 14 weeks already. So I'm trying to wait...

Elizabeth and Gina - I'm putting off getting a doppler. I really want one, but I'm afraid it'll freak me out if I can't find it. I keep telling myself I should be able to feel him in about a month or so.

Amy - hope those kiddos are being good for you today so you can continue to take it easy!

Teresa - I'm telling some people at work tomorrow (not my boss though). Not quite sure how to tell a dozen or so all at once. Guess I'll just wing it.

Ann - have a great trip. Hope the weather in Denver is decent too!

And a big ole WELCOME to our latest!

Natasha

Hi Ladies,

Went to the dr on Fri and we got ourselves a hb! Got the thumbs up that everything is ok, however, I'm totally confused on how far along I am now. my original EDD is 3/23/07 but the u/s has me measured at 6wks 2days which would mean that my EDD is 3/29/07. Dr said since her machine isn't as high tech as the ones at the radiology centers, theirs may not be 100% accurate and to go by my original EDD. Huh?

Thoughts? Comments? Anything??

Thanks,
Winnie

Well I told my team. They were so excited for me. It was so much fun to tell a few people today. I know what you mean about the jinxing thing though.

Trixylovelace: I had my first u/s at 6wks6days and I could see a hb. Good for you for pushing for an early appt.

Natasha: I'm sorry you have to go back to work. My DH is going to come in one day with me to help me get my classroom ready. It is hard to get started when you can't move anything heavy. I know what you mean about the doppler. I still can't decide what to do.

Alisha-good to hear from you 2T girl!

Amy- sorry your injury still hurts. Take it easy.

Hi Everyone!

I too am a newbie, and I thought I’d add to the conversation before this becomes harder for me to keep track of! :) (and longer).

Anyways, Aimee… I know what you mean about having to get past some points. My m/c was at 13w2d but we found out that the serum and screen test u/s at 13w4d. (Yes, it JUST happened days before I went in). I’ve been lucky that my OB has been very accommodating by letting me get my beta levels 3 times and an u/s last Friday. Turns out I was 6w6d (not the 6w3d according to LMP) so I got to see the little flickering heartbeat! I just wish they had the speaker hooked up so I could have heard it.

My 1st pg with DS I also saw the heartbeat around 6 weeks or so, this past pg was at 7 weeks. But I think it can take up to week 9 to see the heartbeat sometimes. How far are you now and when is your first appointment?

Melissa, I’ve been really tired too and you made me laugh with the “gassy monster” remark! I’m so glad I’m not alone. :) I’ve been feeling like a sailor lately with all this belchin’. And sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what is a cerclage? It sounds scary.

Alisha, good luck with your appointment! And I love that pic of DD! It always makes me smile.

Elizabeth, I know what you mean about jinxing yourself, but you know what, last time, DH and I didn’t tell anyone till after that supposed “magic” 12 week mark only to have to go back and tell everyone, “Oops, sorry folks.” That sucked. Some people didn’t even know for more then a few days. This time, we told immediate family only but that’s it until a few more hurtles are past. But think of it this way, by telling some you have that many more people praying for you. And I’m right there with you with the crazy! :p

Gina, I have that same not bad, but not great feeling too. I just wish I had your motivation to do things! I’ve been trying to make valances for my son’s room for months now, and I just can’t get motivated. Mostly because I have to pick this crazy design that requires me to do math and think and stuff. What was I thinking? :)

Teresa, I hope you are starting to feel better. And I wish you the best on the screening (if needed). GL with your 12 week checkup and I’ll be praying for you that everything is fine. I have special place in my heart for women who have had m/c around that week. (for obvious reasons, see above). I truly feel for you.

Amy, I’m glad your injury is feeling better and that your little ones are kind to you today!

Ann, GL with your trip! I hope everything “stay down” for you! :p And I think it’s great you got the Doppler. I’m definitely considering it after hearing so many ladies here rave about it. And this way, I won’t be bugging my OB every week!

PHEW!!! Thanks for putting up with my looooong post ladies. But you all said things I wanted to touch upon. I hope everyone is having a good day and to talk to more of you in the future.

Best wishes,
-Heather

Well Ladies,

I just can't seems to get away from 1T chat today. It is so busy- I love it. I forgot to say a couple of things in my previous post and then a few more messages popped up. Welcome to all the newbies!

Melissa-I'm a gassy monster too. Luckily I just live with DH and DS so it's pretty par for the course around here. If I have a little girl we are really going to have to clean up our acts!

Winnie-Congrats on your great appt. My doc didn't change my dates either even though the u/s measurements indicated I was further along.

Elizabeth-congrats on a great u/s

Gina-That blanket idea is a sweet one. I received a few hand made blankets when I had DS and they are so special to me.

Heather-Thanks for the prayers-you're sweet. I understand people's hesitation about sharing their good news. I'm much more cautious about telling people this time around especially children. But at the same time I think you're right about having the prayers of those you have told. It is so nice to have the support of the people around you.

I heard back from my OB's office. They are going to pull my chart but my OB will probably not talk to me about the blood screening unil my appt. on Thursday. This pg has made me so impatient. I always want everything done right away. I guess I'll just have to wait until Thurs.

So according to my LMP I'm 5 weeks today but the nurse says that based on my HCG levels she thinks I'm only about 3 weeks. That doesn't even make sense to me. First of all, the last time DH & I BD'd was the 20th, secondly because I took a HPT last Tuesday (1st day past AF) and it came back positive. Don't you have to be 4 weeks usually for an HPT to be +? I am boo hooing to myself because I'm so darn anxious to see a HB that I can barely stand it and now they're saying for me to wait 3 more weeks?? That will be agonizing not knowing if everything is really ok. What do I do? Anyone been in this situation?

Just a thought but is it possible that you are counting from LMP and they are counting from conception?
