I had a rather uneventful weekend, which was so good. We went to a graduation party on Saturday for a friend that just earned her MBA. I also hadn't seen her in many months (since I was pg with Austin) so it was really nice to get all caught up with her and share our new happy news! I also got to see my other friend who is EIGHT months pg. I still can't fathom being that far along...but she gives me hope. She has suffered multiple losses, including a 2T m/c, so to see her this far along really filled me with a sense of that it IS possible.
I have my second OB appointment tomorrow as well as the NT scan. I must say that while I'm excited to see the little one on the higher-def u/s, I am still pretty nervous. They are going to check my cervical length too and I just pray all is well. It is still pretty early for the IC to be kicking in, so hopefully cervix is still holding long and strong. We are also going to be scheduling the cerclage (stitches) placement that day, and, needless to say, that has me all kinds of anxious. Still, part of me feels like I will feel a little more relaxed knowing that I have reinforcements in there to help hold baby in. *sigh* I swear by the end of this pg y'all will be tired of hearing about my cervix.
Ann~ Glad to hear that your weekend went well...I already have some people rubbing on my belly and saying "hi" to the baby. I don't know if I'll ever get used to that!
Due date buddies~ I can't believe by the end of the week we'll be in the 2T!!! That is very exciting!
I guess that is all for me, for now. I seem to have babbled on quite a bit this morning! Have a good Monday, all!
Hi ladies, Ann- I definitely loved wearing maternity clothes w/ DD. Of course you get way sick of them the last 8 weeks but they feel so comfy compared to regular clothes. I hope I make it far enough to wear mine again! I have a lot of friends who refuse to wear maternity clothes and just buy bigger sizes. I think elastic waistbands are the way to go! :) Melissa- you are giving ME hope that I'll make it as far as you have. And, we are all here to support both you and your cervix....that sounded weird;) Ok, so here's another ?. I went to the Dr. about a week ago b/c I had strep throat. When the nurse took my blood pressure, she said it was really low. It was something like 96/56. She didn't say to do anything about it but I looked on Webmd and it said that pregnancy can cause low blood pressure but I'm a little worried about it. Have any of you had low blood pressure during your 1st trimester? To make matters worse, DH forgot to get me anything (even a card) for my bday this last weekend! What a gem! Ok, so I'm oversensitive right now. Sorry to go on and on- Aimee
Good luck at your appt tomorrow Melissa! My NT scan is at the end of this week. Too early to tell the sex but nice to see the little one again anyway.
Aimee- the doc I went to said the low bp was due to the extra blood volume we had in early pregnancy and lots of people had dizzy spells and ear ringing with it. I had the ear ringing for
This won't be long tonight. I am about to drop. I have had a class all day yesterday and today. I am just not used to this. Sorry to complain, especially to those of you who have been working hard at full time jobs all summer, but man I didn't think I could get more tired. I have been wearing maternity clothes since last week, but this morning I put on a pair of larger non-maternity pants thinking since I could button them I'd be okay-wrong. Those babies were unbuttoned and halfway unzipped by 10:30. Luckily I had on a long shirt, but it was kind of lumpy looking. Lord knows what people thought-I don't really care.I know it's not whiney Wednesday yet, but I just needed to get it out! I hope you're all doing well this week. Take care!
Ann....Yup, that's it.... I've been so tired I think I'm sleeping right now! :) Good grief. I can't wait for the energy to come back. And I think I'm almost better if I am forced to get up cuz I have to do something, but just sittin' around the house can sap even more energy outta ya.
I should be cleaning, running errands, etc, but the couch keeps calling me..... ;p
Sorry, I know I sound like a baby.... alright, I am a baby. :) But I tell ya, this time around, every little pain or twinge has me so freaked out, I feel like I need to put my feet up to hold everything in. Hopefully I'll feel better after my next appt. with ultrasound.
In fact, they are scheduling it now. That 1st trimester screening test thingy. I have to go to a different office for it which sucks (this is the u/s I found out there was no heartbeat last time). So I'm trying to see if my office can see me the day before or so just to give me piece of mind that everything is ok.
Well, I hope everyone is having a good day and that we all get our energy back! Take care all, -Heather
Ann, I know what you mean. I did put on a maternity dress this weekend that definitely makes me look pg. It was kind of fun. It was more fitted and a size smaller than most of my maternity clothes. It was a very summery dress so I won't be able to wear it when the weather get's cool anyway. I'm definitely showing earlier this time around. I'm still sticking mostly to t-shirts because I don't want to be obvious and alot of my summer pg things are from the end of my pg w/ DS and are absolutely huge!
