Happy Friday everyone!!! :)

Amy~I am thinking of you, too, today...I hope all goes well. I'll be looking for your update!

I am doing ok today. I was sick, again, for the better part of the day yesterday. I think I might not be getting enough protein during the day, or frequently enough. DH got home really late from work last night and I was just so sick and tired I couldn't do anything to help make dinner. However, once I ate, I was up and chipper as could be. Hmm...It is hard for me to know when I'm hungry anymore as I don't really get "hunger pains" like I used to. I pretty much just go from fine to starving...but its not "starving" like it used to, its more like sick to my stomach, so eating is the last thing from my mind. Weird. I guess I just need to make a more concerted effort to eat on a schedule or something, so I know I'm getting enough nutrients. Anyone else have this going on?

DH is off from work today, so I will more than likely be busy with chores and errand running. I will try to check in on the board as often as I can. ;)

Have a great day, y'all!! :)

Hi everyone!

Good luck today Amy!

Melissa-I know exactly what you mean. I have had that weird feeling hit the last two days when we ate late dinners. I don't really feel hungry. I feel kind of sick to my stomach, weak, and with a "fuzzy" head. I don't know how else to describe it. I ate a mid-afternoon snack, but it didn't have much protein, so I guess I need to eat something more substantial.

Ann-I hope you have a good time this weekend.

I'm just taking it easy today and trying to do a few things around the house. Kind of freaking out about my DS at the moment. He had his 2 year check-up yesterday and the doc was kind of worried about his speech. If he doesn't start putting phrases together in the next six months I may have to take him to a speech therapist. I've also been referred to an orthopedic surgeon for him because he walks on the balls of his feet a lot. My nephew had the same thing and had to have physical therapy. It's just a lot to take in, plus he's not eating enough vegetables. Which I knew, but I felt so guilty at the doctor's office talking to her about it. She had a lot of good suggestions though to get the veggies into him in sneaky ways. Well on the bright side. It will give me something else to worry about besides the pg. I know a lot of you are first timers, but if anyone knows of any good books on todder diets and eating habits, please let me know. Thanks

Teresa

It's Friday!

Thanks for all the well wishes- I have a mini update. The scan itself went well the baby was measuring a day behind so no big deal and all of the fold measurements were about 1.5-2 and they dont want anything over 3 so that's great! The blood work will take a few days so thats the other factor- we shall see early next week and I will give another update. But it sure was nice to see the little one jumping and bouncing all over my uterus. Very nice!

Melissa- I get that too I have to eat every 2-2.5 hours or I get sick. Its happened to me since college so I know to bring a snack everywhere- peanuts, raisins, even those high protien bars are good for the purse.

Teresa- ds who will be 3 in Dec is picky. He used to eat a bunch of veggies now its mostly chicken and fruit. I give him a multivit every day and figure I can make him eat when he is 4. It will even out. As for the delays my son spent a month in the NICU when he was born and has had speech, occupational, and physical therapy all come to the house to help. He is just now blooming with the language where 6 months ago he was making beginning sounds and now he is saying sentences. Give it 6 months and then worry. The physical he still wears a brace to straighten out his foot that turns outward but I figure better bow then when he is older. Good luck with him.

Ann- I noticed that this one has switched places from where I used to listen when I first got the doppler. He has moved more north and middle. I guess they shift around as your uterus grows.

Gina- how cute about the dogs! My cats just hide under the bed with lightening. But maybe the ms is from tired. B6 helps a bunch! Feel better

Hello Ladies,

I'm sure this theard is dead now, being Saturday and all, but Teresa, I just wanted to give you some thoughts to your eating questions and speech "issues".

DS is 3 and his veggie consumption consists of raw carrots dipped in Ranch dresssing (now called "dippy dippy" in our house); tomatoes but only in the form of spaghetti sauce but mostly ketchup; and McDonald's french fries. We've tried bribes to get him to at least TRY other things (mostly dipped in ranch or ketchup) and hiding things but it doesn't always work.

There is a cool book out called First Meals (there are at least a couple editions now) that you may want to take a look at. They have cool presentation pictures that may get the little picky ones eating. :)

The other thing I wanted to tell you is the at 18 month DS was saying only 3 words so we were able to qualify for "Birth to 3" services provided through the state. Your state may have similar assistance you could look into. Ask your pediatrician. It may be called early intervention. They deal with everything from speech to physical therapy and much more. Anyways, Alex received services until he was 3 and he did wonderfully with it. They even helped to get him into a pre-school program offered at his elementary school and because he "needed services" is able to go for free! :)

I would be more then happy to answer any other questions you may have about the services, or any advise on ways to get your son to speak. You can email me at heather@peterandheather.com anytime.

Best wishes to all on past appointments, up coming appointments and to all those 1T grads, Congrats! Sorry I just couldn't keep up with the posts this week until now (I fell so far behind). Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well and having a great weekend.

-Heather
