I was thinking about what I would put as the subject line for this post and I just couldn't think of something that would sum up my Dr.'s visit.

Well I don't have great news but it isn't terrible either.

Claudette, I view this is as good news. Your doctor is optimistic, and wouldn't be if he didn't have a good reason. I am glad that you are believing you will see a h/b next week. Have you seen JL's post in the support system of TTCAM? You might want to check it out. It's about thinking positive and believing in a good outcome. Hang in there, sending you happy u/s vibes for next week!

I am glad to hear that you got a least a little reassurance today...the baby is growing! And if your doc is being optimistic, than I see no reason why not to trust him. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts. Hang on to the hope and try to think positive, it will be better for you and baby!

Claudette,

I know how hard it is to think positive when there is so much information out there that scares us, but it really sounds like your appt. went great, and I think it is wonderful that your doctor is very positive about everything. Just trust him! I know, because when my doctor told me everything would be okay, I doubted him (and sometimes I still do-I can't help it!) after I read a bunch of stuff on the internet that told me otherwise. But you have to think about how much experience he has, and know that he has seen lots and lots of cases and he knows what is going on. PLUS, it is a really good sign that there has been a lot of growth since last time! I can't wait for you to hear that little heartbeat next Thursday!! Lots of hugs :)

So glad you posted an update. Sounds like a good appointment!

Take one day at a time and try your best not to let your internet searching get the better of you. As wonderful as the 'net is (sites like iVillage, WebMD and such), it can also cause unnecessary worry b/c of the wealth of information out there. There's so much to obsess about!

And, yes, ~definitely~ check out JL's positive thinking post on TTCAM. I read it early this afternoon and I still have her suggestions firmly planted in my melon. Very encouraging!

Sending more prayers your way for next Thursday's appointment. Hope you see that little heart beating away to give you some much-needed relief!

I am glad to hear that the little bean had considerable growth. That definitely seems like something positive to focus on. I have told other ladies before who were worried about their dates from their u/s this... Earlier in my current pregnancy I was very upset when my baby was measuring about one week off. All I could think of was, oh not again! After going on and on about my concerns the nurse offered to take the measurements again and I gained like 3 days! My point is that u/s, especially the measuring part that determines dates, is very vulnerable to human error. Correctness definitely lays in the hands of the persons expertise and how fast they are trying to breeze through their measurements. You're in my thoughts Claudette and I will be waiting to see how the next u/s looks. Remember if your ob is not worried, its probably because he has seen this happen with other patients and everything turns out fine! Tiffany

Claudette...

I'm very happy to hear things went pretty well with your u/s today. I'm glad to hear your doctor is seeing things in a happy light. If something was wrong, he would have informed you. Your in my thoughts and prayers. I'm also wishing for you that this week flies so very quickly for ya.

Claudette,

I think that that is great news - the baby is growing, that is very positive! I know how hard it can be to think positive thoughts but until next Thursday try to focus on what it will feel like to see that little heart beating away. When I lost my angel, the doctors were quite up front with me about what was going on, even though they wanted me to come back in a week to confirm. I think, like many others, that the fact that your doctor is still hopeful is very encouraging! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and will be waiting for your good news next Thursday.

You are very lucky to have such a wonderful doc. Most docs are pessimistic first and dont give anyone hope. The fact that your doc is not worried means you should trust
