I think it's starting...feeling queasy

6 weeks 3 days now and in the last few days I have noticed that I feel a little queasy. I don't have full blown nausea, but something just doesn't quite feel right. I just feel blah. I know I won't puke, but there is an underlying feeling of nausea and a high sensitivity to smell and some forms of touch. My DH insists on "stroking" me with a finger on the arm or under my knee cap and it is basically a tickle, but a light tickle, and that automatically brings on the nausea. I am definitely not complaining because I am just happy to finally feel like I might be pregnant. It isn't uncommon for me to feel nauseated when my eating and sleeping schedule gets off track, and that is basically how I feel now, but I am thinking it is BITO rather than my daily routine this time. The other thing I am noticing is that when I start to feel hungry, I better eat immediately or I become very grumpy and mean and I start to get dizzy and light headed. Can't say I have ever done that before either. I guess I am curious if this low level all day nausea will remain the same or if I will suddenly start having it really really strong and bad. I feel like I may be desensitized to the nausea since I get it all the time already. Just curious what anyone else thinks and how their nausea started/is currently...

Karri, welcome to the wonderful world of morning sickness! It's one of the most welcomed and unwelcomed symptoms at the same time! I started feeling kind of naseaus around week 7 and it was kinda like what you explained with the smells. Around week 10 is when mine really kicked in full blast and I could no longer eat chicken or lots of other things that the mere thought of made me feel ill. I finally threw up around week 10 or 11 and that lasted until around week 16! It was scary once it went away because I started to not feel pregnant anymore...until week 17 when I felt her move for the first time! So while I complained about how miserable I was at the time, I didn't want it to stop. That's a PAL for ya! I hope your's stays pretty mild and just helps to ease your mind.
Congrats on feeling sick!
Hi Karri!
Welcome to the Club!
I have been having all day sickness since week 5. I am 8weeks now. I wake up feeling nauseous and feel that way pretty much all day. I hate to eat because it is allmost impossible and I do not enjoy the food I am eating. Nothing sounds good to eat, it is more like what do I think I can get down. I get dizzy when I am up and around and have to sit or lie down a lot. Fun Fun! We just have to hang in there! The only thing that has seemed to help besides sucking on Lifesavers is wearing Sea Bands. They are not attractive or comfortable, but I think they help! You can get them at any Pharmacy.
Good Luck to you, hopefully this will pass soon and we will feel good in our 2nd trimester!

Karri,
What you describe is exactly what I had (this time around.) It started at about 5 weeks and tapered off around 8 wks. I still have my moments, but I hardly have the nausea at all now (almost 14 wks) except if I don't eat regularly or if I don't have protein with a meal or snack. When I was at my worst all that seemed to really help was to lay down and go to sleep. Since it coincided with vacation, I was really lucky. I haven't thrown up at all. This is kind of how I felt with DS, except then I didn't have much of an appetite. This time I'm hungry all the time. During the pg that ended in m/c I had really bad m/s, the throwing up kind. Even though it made me really uncomfortable this time, it was comforting to have the reminder that I was actually pg. So enjoy the m/s and I hope it doesn't get too bad for you.
