YIPPEEEE!! Katie, I'm so happy to see you here! Sorry about the m/s. I took the Zofran twice - tasted awful (kind of like bad strawberry cotton candy), but I didn't get sick. Then again, I didn't have much m/s (doc gave it to me as a precaution). Unless they tell you not to, I'd have something to drink soon afterwards to get rid of the taste.

Yay Katie!!! So excited to see you post here! You know I feel your pain. being sick is just miserable. As you know, I was lucky in that I was in the middle of changing jobs during the worst part of my "morning" sickness and was able to take a little time off in between. I probably would have quit otherwise! My dr advised me to take the Zofran only on an as-needed basis, which for me was when I had to function outside of the home or later on when I started being unable to keep fluids down. I never had any side effects - at least none that I noticed in my euphoria over not having to lie on the bathroom floor. I DID have my worst (tmi alert) constipation episodes during the period when I had to take it most regularly, so there might be a connection. Beware of that- I had never experienced anything like it and haven't since, thank god. If I were doing it again, I would make sure I had some prophylactic suppositories at home in advance.

Trying to think of what helped me- not too much, unfortunately. I could never keep crackers down, and even now they make me sick! The preggie pops and drops were okay; altoid sours sometimes helped, and i munched ice chips in the worst of it. Watermelon was actually pretty good, but not too seasonal now!

good luck- hope you feel better- take care of yourself!!

Tasha,

I actually opted for the swallowing kind, not the dissolving-on-the-tongue kind so I haven't experienced any aftertaste...other than the lovely remnants of my earlier glory.
