Betas and HCG levels

I was wondering why so many of you talk about having your betas and hcg levels checked. My doctor did not mention having me to get either checked. I do have a 3 year old and never had it checked with her and with the missed m/c in march, they did not check it either. Should I call my doctor and get mine checked or do they only do that for women with certain problems?

Thanks

Susan, I don't believe this is standard procedure.

Not sure why your dr. didn't have your levels checked.

I had mine checked because very soon after I found out I was preggo I started stopping, that in combination with having had a m/c before made them decide to test. In my case I would say they only did it because there was a potential problem (i.e, spotting), not because I had m/c before. If that didn't happen then I don't think they would have tested, although if I had asked I am sure they would have.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering why I had not been tested. I guess it is better for me not to know, that way it will not add any more stress to this pregnancy.

Thanks Again
