How's everyone doing this week? Anyone do anything fun over the weekend?
DH and I were so busy all weekend. We had a wedding Saturday, it was a lot of fun - they did it XMas themed. Sunday we got together for brunch with some friends in from out of town, and then I had a final exam (take home) that ate up most of my afternoon.
I'm getting a little stressed realizing XMas is only two weeks away. I have 99% of my shopping done, but have only wrapped a quarter of the presents. This week and weekend will involve a LOT of wrapping paper :-)
Anything new with anyone? This week is my big 12 wk milestone...I'm so relieved to have made it this far.
I hear ya Amanda, on the 12 week milestone. I lost my pg in may at 11w6d, and i'm 11w2d. So this, coupled with the anniversary of my dad's death (12/14/81) makes Thursday and Friday nerve wracking ones. It's been 25 years, that part still amazes me. But then I think that he is up there, playing with my angel, and that makes me feel better.
tried to finish xmas shopping, was out for 3 hours, when I got home, i was BEAT! this tiredness thing is for the birds! i'm so ready for this part to be done.
Thanks for the hugs, ladies. I'm actually pretty calm about it all. my mom, on the other hand, is driving me insane. she literally is certifiable, and every year around Nov and Dec gets kinda unbearable. i wish i could explain, but there are not enough words.
Kath...hugs to you in your upcoming milestones and dates, i know the holidays will not be easy. depend on us, we will help you thru it. i too like the idea of keeping the old as a "spare". excellent for parties, over flow, sales, ect.
Jules...sorry the m/s is so bad, but that is not totally a bad thing! :)
who had no appetite? i can't remember....but i know the feeling. just nothing sounds appealing. not even my favorite things do anymore.
Hi Ladies: Sounds like we are all scurrying around like mad women trying to finish things for the holidays--if only we FELT like scurrying around---don't know about you, but I live for an afternoon nap on the weekends!!!
Amanda: You are almost to the sacred 2nd trimester!! Yahoo!!! I can't wait till we're all there with you! Is it officially 12 weeks or 13 weeks when we transition? I can never remember!!!
Julie: Are you sick 24/7 or just mornings or evenings? Does anything help you? If you are like me it gives you some reassurance, but boy do I dread getting up in the AM!!!
Kathy: I am praying extra hard for you this week---I know that this little bean is going to be sticky, sticky, sticky!!! On another note: you have GOT TO LOVE A new fridge!! I never thought I would see the day I would get so excited over an appliance!!
Debb: The holidays have to be tough---we are here for you!!! Keep those thoughts positive.
Maureen: I am so envious of no morning sickness--but can totally empathize with the stress level at work. :( You gave me some good advice in your post: stay focused and calm on the baby---that's what's important...
Now just one more thing....I am gaining weight way too fast. Really. I go in for my 10 week check up and have gained 5 pounds since my 6 week appt. My Dr. is going to have a FIT. But: with all this M/S, I eat constantly just to stay somewhat comfortable. Trouble is: I don't vomit, so all that food just sticks on the mid-section!!! :( Wish me luck ladies...I can just hear him now talking about watching my weight: of course: he is a MALE and never truly dealt with this!!!
TY Kath, for sharing that. It's hard to keep focus that her issues are fairly common when you are stuck in the middle of it all, KWIM? As for the bean cheering her up some, I'm actually hoping the bean is like I was, and tardy to arrive. (I say that now, remind me of this in mid June! lol) Because mom lost her mom 7/4/76 (couple months before I was born) and mom and dad's wedding anniversary was 7/5. So she HATES that weekend, and understandably so. But again, not easy to deal with when you are in the middle of it all, and can't relate very well. Of course, if Andy goes before me, Memorial Day will suck for me, as that is our anniversary weekend. (5/26) So I'm hoping the bean will be a slacker like mommy (I was late too) and make a delayed arrival, to give my mom a reason to look forward to the 4th of july weekend a little bit.
Did any of that make sense?? I hope so!
Those having tummy issues first thing in the morning, try keeping saltines and ginger ale by the bed and munch those as soon as you open your eyes. they may help settle the abundance of tummy acids you built up over night.
Speaking of over night...is anyone else unable to sleep that whole stinkin night thru? it's driving me mad. then once i wake up, i have to pee, then i'm really thirsty. grr....too much movement, then i'm awake for a bit. i know, suck it up, it's only gonna get worse, but still!!!
