Looks Like I'm Here To Stay

Hi Everyone
Yesterday we had an appointment with OB at 11 weeks exactly. We saw our little prawn on the ultrasound, measuring right on track at 4.7 cm. Prawn was bouncing up and down, kicking it's legs and punching it's fists. No wonder I'm feeling so exhausted and still nauseous.
The OB said MC risk is negligable now which was music to our ears. We don't have to come back for a whole month.
I wish I could post the picture of the ultrasound I have, but photobucket and snapfish want JPEG and my picture is another file (BMP) and I can't work out how to change it. If anyone knows how and can describe it to me, or I could email to them to do, please let me know.
Anyway, I think we're pretty convinced that this is happening now and hopefully we can sit back and relax (despite the spotting that remains to some degree but might stop once the placenta takes over fully?). I hope that's true and I won't be posting again next week about my doubts reappearing. I need to relax as I'm growing a baby!
Well here it is:

Hi Marie
I'm sorry I didn't reply to your post, I did see it and although I was thinking that I wanted to reply, I also didn't want to think about the possibility of mine going wrong just at the moment, seeing as I am feeling so positive for the first time. A bit selfish of me I know, but I haven't really posted much lately, just trying to concentrate on getting on with it.
I can completely understand your worry with the spotting given your last MC. I too had MC in September and had spotting every day from the beginning the same as with this PG. It does tend to make you sceptical about your chances. It is not surprising that you are still scared when your MC happened at 8 weeks, even after you saw the heartbeat. How devastating.
Now, anyone else who doesn't need to read TMI details please go to the next message!
As for my spotting, it started at 3weeks 6 days (on exactly the same cycle day as last time). I don't really know the technical definition of spotting, but I saw it defined elsewhere the other day as just stained when you wipe and not on your underpants. Mine has been more than that, so I guess you would say that I have been bleeding since then, although not very much.
It has seemed in general to go in cycles of about 4 days roughly, where there will be more blood, then it will taper off to just a little or a day or two with none. Usually when there is more, it is a 6cm x 1cm smear of brown blood on a panty liner and stained toilet paper. When there is less, there is just very lightly stained discharge on the panty liner and toilet paper.
There have been two episodes of 'bleeding'. The first at 4w6d and second was at 8w5d and I went in for ultrasound and all was fine. By bleeding I mean actively dripping into the toilet, and a little was red, there was more than usual on the panty liner and a little red. It was, however like this a lot more when I MC, pretty much every day. The night before I MC there was quite a bit of red blood and that also happened two days before it.
They say that danger times are the first three times you would have had a period if you hadn't been PG. It looks like we both had some bleeding at around 8 weeks, so maybe that's true. I will feel even more relaxed after I get past 12 weeks. Not long for either of us to go now. I think when the placenta takes over everything the bleeding is meant to stop. Then again there are women who have it throughout PG. I am willing to put up with it if all continues as well as it has been.
I know it must be scary given your history, but we have to believe that we are on the other side of the statistics this time. When I have had bleeding, it has been recommended not to have bed rest (although that can be fun), but definitely rest. I found the two times that I did bleed was the day after I had firstly, been for a bit walk and then secondly, carried heavy groceries. It's not worth it. I have been lounging around ever since. Definitely don't lift anything.
It sounds great that you have some solid symptoms and I hope the spotting goes away for good.

Yea Peppershine!
What a cute pic! It's great to see them so active on the ultrasound, isn't it? So glad to hear things are going well for you!
