Question about Heartbeat

So far, I have had 2 ultrasounds. The first at 7w, we saw baby, heartbeat 119 and a subchrionic hematoma. A week later, I had some bleeding and had another ultrasound. Baby measured 3 day behind, 7w 6d instead of 8w 1d. But, it looked better, 169 heartbeat and no more hematoma.

At that time, I had another ultrasound scheduled for this Thursday. I was asked to call today to see if the Doctor still thought it was medically needed. Well, it isn't, so no ultrasound Thursday :-(

I understand, my last spotting was Friday, just once with constipation. That seems to be a problem for me this pregnancy. I am sad though, I was looking forward to it.

I see the doctor Monday April 23rd and my NT scan is on April 30th. I really do not want to go the NT scan and find out the baby is dead....

So, do you think the Dr will be able to find the heartbear on Monday? I should be 10w 4 days.

I hate obsessing.

I think the dr. will definitely be able to see the hb when you go in on Monday.

Jacqueline,

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but on a couple other message boards I am on I have heard of women who heard the hb on doppler around 10weeks.

My NT scan is on April 30th. I will be 11w 3d. Your window is from 10-12 weeks.
Here is a link: http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/prenatalhealth/118.html

My Dr's office set the appointment up for me. They do this in their office, but they wanted me to see a genetic counselor, because of my age and that my last m/c was Trisomy 14. And to see a perintologist after the procedure because of my Sjoren's syndrome and the possibility of heart defects. So, I am going into Boston to get it done. It will be a long morning.

So, yes you should get it set up soon.

I think they can hear the hb on the doppler between 10-12 weeks. I have a tilted uterus so they never can hear hear it early because of where the baby is. But this pg, they heard at 11w, 5 d. Also can depend on your weight. Thinner you are in the belly, the easier. And how patient your doc is. Maybe if they do not hear the hb at your appointment, they will order an u/s b/c of that.

Hopefully.

I am skinny, but I also have a tilted uterus. So I do not know if he will find the HB.

Thanks
