Why is a Good Dr. so Hard to Come By?

I thought on Friday that was I was going for my first OB appt., to meet with the NP and do u/s, bloodwork, and paperwork. Well, I got my DD up and dressed, and drove almost an hour to the office. Parking was a nightmare. When I walked up to the reception desk she rudely demanded how old my DD was. I said "umm...2...why?" She then snapped that children aren't allowed in the office! Do you think that maybe she could have told me that when I called and made an appt., and said I was a new patient?! I was so mad that I told her I would find a new Dr. and I stormed out in tears. I ended up calling the OB that delivered DD (2 hours away now because we've moved). Yes, it will b a hike, however we know she's a great Dr., and we love the hospital. My new appt. is on the 21st.
I am defintely learning that Palm Spring doctors are not family friendly and are just idiots! Guess they only cater to the geriatric side of things out here! :)

P.S.- Do any of you ladies know about those electric back massagers? I have one that's goes over a chair and massgages all areas. Do you think they're bad during pg if used on a low level? It feels so good, but I'm too scared that electric currents could hurt the baby.

Oh Meagan I'm so sorry you had to encounter such a nasty woman at the dr.'s office.
Ewwww, what a rotten doctor's office that was!! I would have been so mad, and I am so mad for you! What kind of weird OB's office doesn't allow other children??? That's just plain weird. I am glad you have decided to go back to a dr. you know and love. I know it's far, but I bet you'll be glad in the end. GL!

I hope your appt on the 21st goes much better!!
I'm happy for you for not putting up with her rudeness. There are WAY too many rude people in doctors' offices out there, and life is too short to have to deal with people like that!
