Stupid *&$# Hematoma

I decided to call the doctor after my brown goop "spotting" episode Saturday, and I got in today for an u/s and to meet with my OB nurse. It turns out my hematoma GREW instead of shrinking since the last u/s I had done three weeks ago. So I am back on semi-bedrest (I get to go to work, basically). I am so sick of my couch :( and I am sure DH is sick of hearing me complain about his lack of cleaning abilities.
The GOOD news is that I got to see the baby; he or she was in there hopping around like a mexican jumping bean and waving his or her arms and legs. It was so adorable!!
So now I'm really stressed out (again) about losing the little guy or gal. :( The baby is doing fine, and I just feel like my body is letting us both down by having these bleeds. I'm also really confused about what could be causing them; the u/s tech and my nurse have both consistently referred to them as "hematomas", not "subchorionic hematomas", and when I search online all the info is about the latter, so I don't even really understand what is going on. The nurse was still pretty optimistic about the pregnancy, but she WAS less optimistic than at our appointment last week where we heard the heartbeat and when I hadn't had any bleeding or spotting for over a week. Are all hematomas during pregnancy subchorionic?
ARGH. I am so frustrated right now.

From what I've read, I think they are all pretty much the same thing.

I'm so sorry!
I'm so sorry you're still having to deal with this! I hope it resolves itself soon, so you can stop worrying and stop having to lie on the couch all the time.

I had one at 11 weeks. It wasn't borwn goop though- it was (TMI) a lot of red blood. When it turned to brown goop, my doctor said it was a good thing.
The HOPE and reassurance you have is that if you saw your little one JUMPING (which I did too) after the bleeding has started, my research says you make it (like 95% chance). My bleeding was terrible, and lasted for weeks... and now I am 30 weeks along!
Good luck! And lots of PAPT for you, from Canada.
Marcella.
