have you gained weight yet?

You know, normally ladies don't ask each other this question....hee hee. I was just wondering, because the nurse at my doctor's office seemed kind of disappointed that I had only gained 1 pound so far (I was 10w5d yesterday). So I went home and read in my book ("Your Pregnancy Week by Week") that I should be gaining 2/3lb per week for the first 20 weeks....which would mean about 6lbs by now. I'm not puking, and I feel like I'm eating anything that's not nailed down, so why haven't I gained weight yet??

Wendy-
I am actually underweight, so I've been told to gain tons and tons of weight during this pregnancy, and at my appt today I've finally put on all of a pound (I'm at 12w). But both my nurse and OB have said it's perfectly normal and ok to not gain any weight throughout the 1T.
My SIL was just pregnant, and she actually lost quite a bit of weight in the 1T (the dr wasn't too happy about THAT), but then she quite made up for it in the 2T and 3T.
If you're at all worried, though, I would ask about it at your next appointment...
Hey Wendy,
I have not gained anything.
Well it seems like I must be in the minority! I'm 7 weeks 4 days and I'm sure I've gained weight judging by how tight some of my pants are getting! some of that is due to me no longer doing such physical work at my job (and being part time) and also because I have put house reno's on hold until the second trimester just to be on the safe side (I was planning to be removing wall panelling and trying to plaster, plus patching and painting). So overall my lifestyle is a bit more leisurely and I have days where I have the hugest appetite and I'm only occasionally sick, so I think its all contributing to me getting fatter! But as long as I get a healthy baby at the end of it I don't really mind gaining weight for the time being (and I'm not overweight yet)!
I've gained about 7 lbs. so far - for me, it doesn't take much, unfortunately. ;-) I started out about 15 lbs. above my goal weight, where I'd been stuck for months. Partly because I have a very hard time finding the time and motivation to exercise much. I gained about 40 lbs. with DD - hoping to keep it less this time, because I really splurged during the 1T that time...
