Hi,
I just had to share that I went for my first u/s today. The tech, who happens to be as exactly pregnant as I am, was great. She said baby measured at 8 weeks, which of course worries me since I know when I Ovulated, but I have to stop obsessing.... She got the heartbeat of, I think, 160 and she printed me a little picture that looks nothing like anything.

I'm so excited because it's now starting to feel real. And with my missed m/c last year, the pregnancy stopped at around 7 weeks although I didn't miscarry until week 9 so if I'm at 7-8 wks now, I feel like I'm passing some sort of milestone, which is silly but it gives me some comfort all the same.

One interesting thing: I said to the tech, when I found out she's pregnant, "At least you can scan yourself every day if you want." But she said she doesn't because it'll do no good. She said something to the effect of "what'll happen, will happen." It was nice that she could empathize with my angst.

tks,
-bammer

Hey Bammer -
So glad to hear everything went well at the ultrasound! Having a pregant tech is so cool. With my daughter, we did NOT want to know the baby's sex (at our 18w u/s) and she was just as pg as I was and wanted to be surprised too (can you imagine being a pregnant u/s tech and not finding out the sex???) so she was extra careful not to accidentally show us anything. Not that we would have known what we were looking at anyway...I saw the umbilical cord and told my husband "It's a BOY!!!" LMAO

Anyway, enough about me...Congratulations on reaching another milestone. :)
