I think I have come down with a stomach bug. I have been throwing up since 2pm....and I have the runs. After completely emptying myself in the bathroom, I feel ok. But once I try to eat of drink anything, it comes back up. Mikey had this the other day and it only lasted 24 hours for him so I hope that is all it will be for me. But I am worried that this will hurt the baby, since i can't keep any fluids down. I feel like I might be dehydrated, but can't drink. It almost feels like my stomach isnt digesting anything, that everything I ate or drank for the last few days has just sat there till I threw it up today....how else could there have been SO much? It would also explain why I gained two lbs in a week.....nothing was going anywhere. I cant sleep so i wanted to take some Pepto Bismol, but the internet said that it is a Class C drug and not to take it without a doctors permission.....so what am I supposed to do? Has anyone else got sick like this in the 1T?

I know you are feeling awful, and you don't want to take anything for the baby's sake. I had a terrible case of MS in my 8th week that landed me in the ER twice to get IV fluids. I wanted to tell you that it's OK to take Emetrol (OTC) for nausea. It might help you keep down teeny bits of *bland* food or water. Give it a try! I hope you feel better VERY soon!

Yes, I've had this in the 1T before. It can't hurt your baby unless you let yourself become dehydrated. I found that pedialite popsicles tasted good and stayed down. Try sipping a little room-temperature water every 10 minutes (just a sip, so it stayes down). Avoid anything with sugar, like fruit juice or soda, it will just make the diarhea worse. After you've kept things down/in a while try some saltines. There's something called the BRAT diet you are supposed to do the day following keeping everything down/in. It's Bananas, Rice, Apples, and Toast. If you haven't kept anything down all day today, I would call your OB. They will probably want you to go to the ER/L&D and monitor you. They'll just give you and IV for fluids and discharge you.

Hope you feel better soon.
