Ridiculously freaked over cramps

Okay, I know they're normal during the 1T, but I'm freaking out anyway. I've been having them off and on since I went to bed last night. Even got up at 3am to do some research on the net to make sure they were normal. Then proceeded to try to convince myself everything was fine and just to go to sleep.

Candance,

I think some of the most unfair things about being pregnant after a loss or losses is the fear that we have to live with. I mean we worry over every little thing. Cramps are very normal and I had them with Matthew until I was around 15 weeks and then I started getting braxton hicks around 18 weeks. But the thing is that this does not matter if they are normal because they still freak you out, because they remind you of your loss. Please try to remind yourself that the cramps are your little one making his home nice and comfy for the next 34 weeks!!

Hugs,

Jenn

Candace,

I too have been having cramps the past 3 days and its driving me crazy! I just keep checking to make sure they aren't moving around (its the same cramp in the same spot) and that they aren't getting worse. Yesterday I called my doctor for a blood test just to check and make sure everything is good. Last time the cramps started 2 days before my m/c. I look at it as a good sign I'm on day 3 and still nauseous! Hang in there! They are perfectly normal! Ask your doctor to see you or for a blood test if you think it'll calm your nerves!

Hugs to you Candace!

I do know how hard the 1T is, even the 2T! I obsessed and worried about every little cramp and twinge. I would keep a journal and write down the exact time and the exact feeling of every cramp. Then, I'd fax the info to my Dr. or, most of the time, beg to get in to see him! I was pretty out of control that's for sure!

I think the thing that helped me the most was when I would stay busy. Try to really focus on work or rent a bunch of good movies or start a new little craft or something. Anything to take your mind off of it.

It is so hard, but the cramps and twinges are completely normal. And your feelings are normal after a loss. Thinking of you and I hope you feel better soon!

I recently read an article that said the cramps felt in early pg are the exact same thing as Braxton Hicks ctx.....so they are very very normal. I haven't really had too many this time. I do remember having them in weeks 4-5, but that is about it. I know that for Braxton Hicks, if they get uncomfortable, you are supposed to have a drink and lie down and they should stop. Maybe try resting when the cramps get bad. It can't hurt.
