hair color during pregnancy?

Hey gals, my instinct tells me not to color my hair while pregnant since it can be so fumey. I've looked on a few sites that say definitley wait until your 2nd trimester and try to avoid having the chemicals on your scalp when you do color your hair. So I had gotten highlights right before my positive and I'm good with my roots for another 3 weeks or so. That will put me into my 2nd tri. I'm going to just have the highlights covered only and then rock the natural look until the baby comes. Any one else have a hair color fear or dilemma?

I was worried about it and talked to my doctor. There haven't been any studies that show that it causes any problems. (There haven't been any that says it doesn't either, to be fair, but it's all just conjecture that it is a problem.)
I dyed my hair at 13 weeks. I couldn't wait any longer and my roots were driving me crazy. And since pregnancy caused massive breakouts and worse acne than I have ever had in my life, I felt like if I had roots on top of it, I would just never leave the house.
Yes, a small amount is absorbed through your skin. I would use a mild dye if you're really worried (like a henna) but I used my regular clairol and just made sure I was in a well ventilated room.
My doctors said I could do it at any point, but I waited for the 2T JUST in case! :)
I know what you're going through! I am actually just new to the 2T, as of Monday, and I have a funny story! Went on Tuesday to get my hair highlighted and cut, since it hasn't been done in three months. Well I walked in the salon and chickened out....I didn't get my hair highlighted, only cut. I thought I'd wait a couple more weeks. With my DD I highlighted my hair my WHOLE pg and everything was fine. I'm sure you'll be okay in the 2T to get your hair done.
