Couldn't hear heartbeat but saw it

Should I be worried?????
At 11wks 2days, yesterday the doc couldn't find the heartbeat. I am very thin according to average standards (I'm up to 119lbs now after gaining 7lbs with this pregnancy at 5ft6in) and we heard it at 9wks with my first son, so I was certain we'd hear it yesterday. I was very upset.

The doc did a quick ultrasound and we saw the heartbeat but she didn't give me a rate. She did measure the baby, which measured at 11wks1day - only a day off. This was supposed to reassure me but I still feel nervous that we couldn't hear it on the doppler. Does this mean it's not a very strong heartbeat? Or does it just mean the baby was laying really low in my uterus and couldn't be picked up by the doppler? The doc didn't seem to think it was a big deal but as a PAL, I was extremely worried!

Someone tell me not to worry!

Thanks!!!

I wouldn't be worried since you were able to see baby's heartbeating away on the u/s.

No reason to worry!!

I had the same thing-- saw it on the ultrasound, but she couldn't find it with the doppler. I couldn't get a doppler reading until about 13 weeks, and that was with a lot of work and patience!!

When I was pregnant with my daughter we heard it on doppler at 9wks, and again at 12wks. I was in around 15wks for an appt. and they couldn't find it. A quick US showed it beating away. It really all depends on position of the baby! Everything sounds good for you!

My dr told me with my history the next couple of times we come in we're doing u/s just to be sure! So he said sometimes as early as 10 weeks he can hear a hb but sometimes it's later...so don't worry!!! You saw it! And the baby is measuring good!! All sounds good!!
