Hi I was wanting to buy a Doppler at Walmart so I was wondering when the best time to get one. I want to make sure I can hear the HB. I'm kinda chubby so I didn't know if that had anything to do with it.

Any Advice :)

Hi,

With the dopplers you rent online you can usually hear the heartbeat around the 11-12th week. With the one from walmart you cant hear it till about 29 weeks. I have one of the ones from target and I am 31 weeks and still can not hear the heartbeat on that peice of crap lol. I would suggest renting one if you want to hear it early. If you have any questions let me know.

The baby listeners they sell at walmart, etc. are NOT dopplers. Dopplers use ultrasound waves to pick up baby's heartbeat and amplify it. They're a medical instrument and you have to have a doctor's approval to rent one. The walmart listeners are pretty much a stethoscope with a speaker. HTH, Good luck!
