JL - how are you? Saying prayers for you and the twinkies.
The doppler hasn't come yet - I ordered it Saturday, and it said that it would be 2-5 days, so sometime this week. Oh, and I ordered it from Babybeats, just the one that doesn't count for you. I just want to know that it's there!
Sara, I know how nervewracking waiting for appointments is. Update us as soon as you can, we'll be thinking about you!
Hi ladies! I'm not quite caught-up yet either. Just popping in quickly...
Megan let us know how that doppler works. I've been curious, but I think it just might make me even more crazy, rather than reassuring me... so I'm on the fence about getting one.
Sarah, good luck today. I cant wait to hear your very positive, hb-filled update!
JL glad to hear spot has left.
I'm with you guys on the junk food when I'm nauseous....and I'm most often nauseous when I get too hungry. But if I allow myself to get there it's only carbs that I can choke down, and hold down. Well, carbs anc cucumbers...they've become quite soothing. I've also found there's a fine line between "I could eat" and "I'm going to puke then pass out". It's a strange thing, but the good news is that the closer I get to the 2T (wow, still can't believe it!) the more spread-out these episodes get. From 91/2-121/2 weeks every evening about 4p I started getting sick. The past few days have been better, and so far since Saturday only Sunday was I dizzy and nauseous. We'll see what the rest of my week brings...but this is promising!
Hello everyone! Well, I'm still around. I've been keeping up with ya'll, but I've been really bad about posting...just lazy, tired and nauseous or not nauseous and freaking out to myself :)
Welcome to all the new ladies joining!!!
JL - I hope spot stays away for you, and I sending positive vibes to those twinkies of yours :)
Yusra, Candace, and Megan - I'm so happy that ya'll are about to go to 2T. How exciting! I'm right on your tails since I'm in my 11th week now :)
Andrea - Like others said, I would discuss this with your doctor to let him/her know your fears so that way they can see if it's something that can wait or at least discuss the pros and cons with you.
Those who are suffering from M/S - STAY AWAY from Oatmeal Cream Pies!!! OMG - that was the worst thing that has ever come back up. I think there is molasses in them, and it hurt bad :( They really should have a warning on the box for pregnant women ;) Some of the things that have worked for me are dum dum suckers and wint-o-green life savers (and of course Zofran, but I try to only take them when the m/s is really bad.) Candace and Suzie - My m/s is always the worst in the evenings, but I'll have it once or twice a week in the a.m. too.
Suzie - I use Tylenol for headaches. I just started getting them, but my doctor always tells me that Tylenol is safe to use.
Megan - Did you have to get a prescription for the doppler from your doc? I've been thinking about getting one because I seem to have episodes where I am just so panicky that something has went wrong. Last week, I had a 3 day reprieve from m/s, and I was just terrified that something went wrong, and the day I was going to call the dr, it came back with a vengeance, so I guess I'm having waves of hormones or something.
Well, as for me, I have an appt with a perinatologist next week Friday for my protein s deficiency and NT Scan. I'm excited and scared about having the ultrasound. I'm just always so nervous that there will be nothing there. My stepdaughter turns 13 next thursday...I can't believe she's finally going to be a teenager...she's been acting like it for at least 3 years now :) My 14 yo step son wasn't very happy at all about the thought of a baby, but he's coming around, and last night, he admitted that he was "kinda looking forward to it now." :) That made me feel so much better.
If I forgot anyone, I'm sorry. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, and have a happy hump day tomorrow!!!
Sorry that you're suffering headaches. I do my best to try and avoid them, but I think that the hormones get the best of me at times and I can't avoid them. When I do, I take tylenol. I'm normally a migraine sufferer and usually have about 2 over the course of each pregnancy. When I do, I tough it out, or if it's is really bad and later in the pregnancy I go to the ER and have a magical shot, get really loopy, and go to sleep for about a day.
What about Arnica? Or, if you go to the natural food store near you, they have those blue tubes with homeopathic white pellets in them. I've taken the one for headaches and it worked for certain kinds of headaches.
Had a pretty good day. Less junk food! Actually, when I say junk food, it's more like white bagels with cream cheese, that type of thing. Jeri-Lynn, thanks for the info on the spicy and oily foods. I don't think that I could get within 5 feet of either kind without turning some shade of green. I was at book club tonight and someone brought something deep fried and I really had a hard time with that when it passed by me. Fortunately my sister saw the look on my face and came to save me. Of course, no one knows besides her, and I didn't want to announce it in that way!
Suzie, one more thing about the headaches...sugar is often times the culprit. That and dehydration. Two things that I am being super careful about to avoid a headache right now.
Yusra, and Sarah...so happy that you both had good appointments!
