bad NT u/s

Average NT was 3.1, one of the measurements was 3.6 (not 3.8 as I thought, but still). I could tell there was too much fluid there as soon as I saw the baby on the screen. Baby didn't move much, didn't want to play.
I got a quick appt with a genetics counsellor who is trying to get me a CVS for next week, but it is probably too late. I will likely have to wait until 15 weeks to get the amnio, then 2-3 weeks after that for results. It's going to be a very very long couple of months and anything could happen in the meantime.
So it doesn't look good. I was hoping for more reassurance from the counsellor but didn't get any.
So that's that.

Becca, I don't know anything about n/t scans, but I'm sending lots of hugs your way. I'm sorry you're having to worry about this.

Becca,
An average of 3.1 is VERY close to the "normal" of 3.0. Are you getting the associated blood test with the u/s? If so, that will give you a much more accurate assessment. But, as you know, this is only a screening test - it is not definitive. I know you are still worried, but please try not to be too worried. I've read posts from quite a few women here and on my EC who had "high" measurements or higher "odds" as a result of their N/Ts and have had perfectly normal amnio or CVS results.

Hi Becca,
I am so sorry to hear you are upset - I had the NT test done since I just turned 35 so I remember going through that.
Add me to the list of people praying for you and your bean.
Becca mark my name down on that list of people praying for you and your bean. I hope the geneticist can get you in for that CVS so you do not have to wait so long. You know we are here holding your hands through it all.
Lots of love and p&pt.
