Average NT was 3.1, one of the measurements was 3.6 (not 3.8 as I thought, but still). I could tell there was too much fluid there as soon as I saw the baby on the screen. Baby didn't move much, didn't want to play.
I got a quick appt with a genetics counsellor who is trying to get me a CVS for next week, but it is probably too late. I will likely have to wait until 15 weeks to get the amnio, then 2-3 weeks after that for results. It's going to be a very very long couple of months and anything could happen in the meantime.
So it doesn't look good. I was hoping for more reassurance from the counsellor but didn't get any.
So that's that.

I had my CVS at 13 weeks and the doctor said he would do one as late as 14 weeks. Hopefully you won't have to wait and you will receive good results. I was given a 1:40 odds of downs from my NT scan/blood work. The results from our cvs said everything is normal. I also got the FISH results back in about three days and the final results in 10 days. Good Luck and try not to worry.

Becca,
I am so sorry for this news.
I am so sorry that you have to wait to find answers.
Becca:
I'm so sorry you're are going through this stressful ordeal.
I had a cvs at 10 weeks 2 days - I know they can do them for a couple of weeks beyond that - actually I think that was on the early side. Ask about the FISH testwith either the cvs or amnio - they should be able to give you preliminary results in 24-48 hours. I did have to wait the full 2 weeks plus a few days after my cvs because they got such a small sample due to the location of the placenta, but that's not the usual course of things.
I'll be thinking of you, hoping for a good outcome and am sending HUGS.
Andrea
