too early?

Well, I had my u/s this morning. We could see the corpus luteum (huge), and sac but no pole or hb yet. :( I know that it may just be too early, but of course I'm anxious. I already called my dr & spoke to the nurse, so I'm going to go back and have some blood drawn this afternoon (if I can make it) or tomorrow morning. My next u/s will be next Friday, the 31st.
I have not had good experiences with the u/s docs yet. First of all, it happens to be a teaching hospital, so there were the u/s tech & some assistant (maybe shadowing her?), two residents, and 1-2 drs in the room with me, coming and going. Then the main dr sounded frustrated that I was there perhaps too early.

(((HUGS))) Stephanie. Your little bean will show! S/he's in there! It's just early.
Sorry for your negative experience at the doctor's. Can you find someone else you feel more comfortable with? I can't believe they said "if there's something there"! Whatever! Just ignore them. Your baby's there, Honey!
Take care and hang in there,
Jane

Oh honey I'm so sorry you have to deal with such crappy people at a time when you need the most support.
Stephanie- hang in there! The first trimester is sooooo hard! So much waiting, not feeling well, cant' really tell anyone. You're getting closer and closer to the 2T everyday!
Are there other options around you for doctors? I have a wonderful doctor, but I have to tell you that for some reason the u/s technicians that they send us to lack any sort of empathy whatsoever. I have yet to get one that is kind and compassionate...two qualities that they should most definitely possess! I have heard that one or two of the technicians are nicer than the others, so I'll request them when I go in next time. Do you have friends who have had u/s at that hospital that might be able to suggest special doctors/technicians? Maybe that would help.
Sending you hugs and positive thoughts to get you thru the next week until next Friday. The waiting is the hardest part.

Too early...I think so...
I went in at 6w3d (based on lmp), for my first u/s and they could see the sac and fetal pole, but could not see the hb. She said I was only measuring 6 weeks and that even a matter of hours can change alot. Like if I would have gone in the afternoon, maybe we would have seen the hb. I was so nervous, and needed to wait 10 days before my next u/s. I know

Oh Stephanie,
I'm so sorry about your bad experience this morning and in the past. Some people just don't get it do they?! I just know your going to see your sweet baby during your next U/S. Sending you Good Luck vibes for the 31st.

Big (((HUGS))) sweetie!!!
Thanks everyone! It's definitely reassuring to know that others have been in this position & things have worked out great. (Yeah TL & Vicki!) It just adds to the wait!! I will get my blood drawn in the morning, I just have to much going on at work to go back and forth across town this afternoon & I am working on lowering my stress...
Stephanie
