too early?

Well, I had my u/s this morning. We could see the corpus luteum (huge), and sac but no pole or hb yet. :( I know that it may just be too early, but of course I'm anxious. I already called my dr & spoke to the nurse, so I'm going to go back and have some blood drawn this afternoon (if I can make it) or tomorrow morning. My next u/s will be next Friday, the 31st.

I have not had good experiences with the u/s docs yet. First of all, it happens to be a teaching hospital, so there were the u/s tech & some assistant (maybe shadowing her?), two residents, and 1-2 drs in the room with me, coming and going. Then the main dr sounded frustrated that I was there perhaps too early.

Thanks Margot. :) I'm definitely contemplating it...especially because I'm changing job positions & considering going on dh's insurance!

Stephanie,

I'm sorry that your ultrasound wasn't what you'd hoped it to be and that your technicians were lacking, shall we say.

Thanks ladies. I got my bloodwork from Wednesday. HCG is 25,380. That was definitely reassuring. Fingers crossed for next Friday...if I need to I will kick some u/s dr/tech booty. I am hoping that with my tilted uterus, baby bean was just having an easier time hiding out...

This same thing happened to Tracilee with the tilted uterus...and her little baby mac is doing fine now. That beta is definitely reassuring...I wish nothing but the best for you and your bean! GL next week!

Aw Stephanie, I know how stressful it can be (hugs). I had my first u/s last week, probably around the same time as you (6w4d) and my OB couldn't find anything. I too was terrified. I just went back this morning at 7w5d and there was the babe, heartbeat and all! Keep the faith, I know it's hard but technology isn't 100% reliable, trust that your bean is growing strong and healthy.
