U/S update/progesterone ?, need help

Hi all!

Well, I just wanted to send a quick update. After a long week of waiting since our last HCG draw, we finally got our first u/s done today. Nervous doesn't begin to describe my emotions. I went over every scenerio in my head to prepare myself.

We did see a little bean and a tiny flicker of a HB! I could barely see the HB, RE had to point it out, but said it was normal for it to be faint like that at this stage. I am 6w5d, but I ovulated on day 17or18 not 14. My measurements were around 6w 1-2days- which is dead on from when I ovulated. He was very happy with the results of todays u/s.

My HCG is 58,000, but my progesterone dropped to 20.9. It was in the high 20's the last couple of weeks. I have never had an issue with low progesterone (my 4 losses were not attributed to this)...my question is- can the levels flucuate during pregnancy? Do they go up and down a little- or should they only go up? I am supposed to call back tomorrow to see if the RE wants to do anything...supplementation I assume. I know the level of 20.9 itself is still normal- nurse said they like them to be above 15. But I guess since my level has dropped some- that is what is scaring me. Please fill me in if anyone knows about this- good or bad. So, while we took another big step today, I am still so agonizingly uncertain and nervous.

Thank you to everyone for all your support through everything- it is truly appreciated!

Kristin

All the best,

Kristin :o)

Kristin-
Congrats on the good u/s!

I agree w/ the PPs. Progesterone varies daily and even hourly. During my pregnancy w/ my son, my progesterone level fluctuated. My friend was pregnant at the same time. She was on progesterone injections because she had IVF. Her level ran anywhere from 15-25 and also fluctuated. We both delivered healthy baby boys.

Keep us posted. I look forward to reading your good news.
