Angelia - thanks for asking. Things are going pretty well so far. I am 15w5d today. I don't have another appt until 10/8 when I go in for a leve II ultrasound- instead of doing an amnio we chose that route. I go in the next day for my regular OB visit. This has been the toughest stretch for me. We lost our last baby at 15w (baby was 13.5). My last visit was at 14 w so even though it made me feel good to hear the hb, I still don't feel like I can relax. We still haven't told anyone about our pg for fear of losing this baby. But we are going to have to say something soon. I'm starting to get a pooch. Thanks for checking in with me. I will keep everyone posted after my ultrasound.

I am so excited for you...and I do agree with the going of the Level II u/s route instead of the amnio...I did the same thing myself...I loved the Level II u/s...because it is so intricate you can even see all the chambers of the heart and blood flowing to and from the veins of the umbilical cord ...( of course mine was at 30 weeks or so because of gestational diabetes) so I hope it comes back with a great screening from the doctor...and PLEASE..come let us know...they might even be able to tell you pink or blue...how exciting..is this a maternal fetal specialist giving you the u/s...hugs to you and your family...

No - We haven't talked about it lately. We should probably do it soon but I think we both want to wait until we have the ultrasound done and know for sure that our baby is still kicking. But that is still 2 weeks away and my belly is starting to poke out and my pants are getting a little tight so we may have to break the news earlier. We were pretty creative with my daughter and son.

For my daughter we ran around all(most) of our immediate families homes and stuck fliers in their newspapers at 5:00 am. The fliers were like little newspapers announcing the pending birth and expected due date. It was a really cute idea - my hubby's.

With my son - we had the 'baby to be' give my daughter a birthday present and made a card for her and read the card outloud when she opened her last gift. That way we told everyone at one time and it didn't take away from her birthday celebration since we did it at the end.

For the baby we lost - we never told anyone about the pregnancy because it was a little troubled from the start and neither one of us really felt confident. So when I went in for my ultrasound at 15 weeks I was shocked to learn that we lost our little one but not completely surprised. My family is so dramatic (Italian) that I didn't want to have to tell them that I had lost a baby. They have the greatest way with words!!!

If any one has any creative suggestions I would love to hear them.

Well this is just an idea...but how about..

Since you are going for your level II u/s...how about taking one of those pics...making copies of it..at like the kodak machine at the photo shops...then having your daughter help you make a card for each family member or couple...put her hand print on it..in pink..then a question mark below it...then on the inside put the picture with a caption saying...COMING SOON TO A FAMILY NEAR YOU...ARRIVAL OF BABY...released and put edd your due date...then I would of course decorate them or whatever...then mail them on the same day...and let that speak for you...how about that..or is that too stupid you think...

Angelia, That is a great idea! My daughter would loved to be involved with that, my son probably would too - just because big sis is. Now we just have to wait two more weeks - yikes!!! Thanks!
