New here....just wanted to say hi
Thu, 04-15-2004 - 3:10pm

My name is Amy and I am 31 years old. I had a m/c in July last year, had a D&E, and have been trying ever since. I had been posting on TTCAM after a loss +6 months, and would really love it if I can remain here for the next 9 months!

I just went to an RE last week and he told me that I was having problems getting pregnant because of scar tissue from the D&E. He also told me that if I got pregnant there was a very good chance I would have a miscarriage because the scar tissue would prevent the egg from attaching to the spot it needs to be. I was told I needed to have surgery to removed the scar tissue in June and should not try to get pregnant until the surgery was over.

Meanwhile, I just found out 2 days ago that I am already pregnant. I am 4 weeks and am due in December. When I called the RE's office to tell them the news, his nurse did not sound happy. At this point I am getting my blood taken to measure my counts every 2-3 days. Tomorrow I go for my second round of tests and will see for the first time if my counts have doubled. If and when I make it to 1000, I can then have an ultrasound.

I am not sure how to feel at this point. Every time I get excited, I quickly remind myself of what the RE said.

Anyway, I got a lot of great support from the last group I was with, and thought this was a good place to go. I hope that I can be as helpful and supportive to others as they have been to me.

Thank you for reading! Best of luck to all of you!!

Hi, Amy! Welcome to the board! I hope we'll be getting to know you over the next 9 months or so. Congrats on your BFP! I hope all goes well with your appts and the scar tissue doesn't cause problems.

Good luck and welcome!

Thanks for remembering me! I was at the TTCAMC 6+mos for such a short time... but I remember you too. It's especially wonderful seeing someone from that board graduate to this one. I pray that your BFP is a sticky one and that you'll be around here for a long while! Please let us know what happens with your bloodwork.

:) Sue

Thanks for your messages! I really appreciate it!

I went today and found out my hcg count went from 71 on Tuesday to 272 today (Fri). So, good news for today! I'm waiting to hear back on my progesterone levels.

Best of luck to both of you! I am anxious to hear about your progress as well!

Hi Amy!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!! I just wanted to tell you that you are not alone. I had a D&C last October 2003 and was told I must wait an entire year before I TTC again. I was diagnoised with a "Molar Pregancy" which is very rare but can result in cancer if the pregnancy is not terminated immediately (I was 20wks). I was also going through weekly, now monthly blood tests to ensure that my Beta HCG levels returned to normal.

To make a long story short, I ended up getting pregnant (against my doctor's suggestion) only four months after my miscarriage. I was so scared, all I could think about was repeating the past. Fortunately I was sent straight to the specialist who immediately said that everything looked "Excellent" was so reassuring. I have had two (Level 2)sonograms and heard the heart beat already. I am now 8wk3dys....and everything is going great so far. All I can say is that sometimes things are just meant to be. I considered this baby a wonderful unexpected. I just take it one day at a time and pray for the best (and ofcourse take good care of myself). Each day that passes gets us closer to our goal (due date). So hang in there and STAY POSSITIVE!!!!

<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>> to you and your little one!

I am so happy to hear that things are going well for you. Thank you for your message. In the back of my head, I think, if this baby makes it, he/she really will be a miracle, and a strong little thing at that!!!
