Are you exercising?

Before I was pregnant I was as moderate exerciser but my first trimester kicked my booty so I've just been walking twice a day with my doggies, and doing water aerobics almost ever week and yoga almost ever week. I think I'm going to go back to doing some light weights elliptical stuff at the gym. I figure if I have some energy I should use it, right? What are you girls doing as far as exercise goes?

I live in a three story house-- does that count??

Not much is the real answer-- but I wasn't super active before I was pregnant either.

I was a pretty active exerciser before this pregnancy. I have not been working out at all!! I am sooooo lame!! I would like to do water aerobics and the elliptical but always make excuses for myself. BOOOOOOOO! I would like to spend the last weeks of my pregnancy trying to get a little bit more healthy. I eat like crap and don't exercise. Good plan huh??

Alice-

1T was bad for me too, so I didn't do too much exercising then.

Nicole thanks for the ideas--Do you do frequent pulse checks? It's good to know that 1T was as lazy time for most of us!

Alice-

I do the most pulse checks when I am jogging, as that is the most strenuous of my exercises.

Does chewing count as exercise? ;-) LOL

I was not in good shape when this pregnancy started, and haven't done much to improve that, I'm afraid. Any suggestions for good "starter" exercises that would at least keep me from turning into even more of a lump? :-)

I am so impressed that you are jogging! I am probably going to stick to the elliptical and light weights and add some pilates to the mix. I want my body to stay strong. Kudos for doing the marathons--how cool!

ktcruiser--I would try prenatal pilates! It is a quiet exercise that is no-impact and strengthens your whole body--and prepares your pelvic floor for pushing!

Just getting out and walking is a great one. Our treadmill is going slack and we can't figure out how to fix it-- so DH has been forgoing his nightly TV watching runs and we're trying to go out and walk. There are a ton of pregnancy DVDs out there-- I like my prenatal yoga-- but I'm just to lazy to do it! But it is great for stretching and feeling a bit stronger.

Everytime I go to yoga I realize how inflexible I'm becoming and how much I need it. I have to force myself to go, though.
