I said other because I have to work one out of every 45 days in order to keep my pansion at my job so I will probably be a SAHM but I will pick up one shift a month on a causual basis in order to keep my foot in the door. Otherwish I could loose part of my pension. Its not that we cant afford for me to stay home I just dont want to loose my job. However I do get a year off for Mat leave so maybe by the time that is done I will be ready to go back once in awhile.

If finances would allow I would love to work part time, but I could never stay at home all the time!

Same here - I would LOVE to go part-time, and hopefully will be able to that in the not too distant future, but right now I don't think I'd like staying home all the time. I think part time would definitely be the best of both worlds, especially once my kids start school.

I agree with the pp... I voted "undecided" because I think this is something I'll know a little more about how I feel after the baby is here... but I think I would have to work at least part-time, because I really enjoy working.

I would go nuts not working. I'm sure a lot of my world view will change once this little guy shows up-- but right now, I derive a lot of who I am from what I do. And I like that!!

Ideally I'd like to work part-time.

I have serious doubts that part-time is an option with my current job too. Isn't it frustrating that so many moms would be so happy about having that option and it isn't available? I know I waste a good bit of time during the day, so I think I could get almost as much done part time! (well, maybe not almost as much, but definitely more than half!)

I'm with Megan and other pp's. In my ideal world I'd work 2-3 days per week. I have several friends that do this and I think it sounds like a perfect situation for me. But I don't think my current position, or my current husband (lol) would allow for this. I do hope to go to at least 4-days per week though...if I can talk the docs into it.

I never thought I would be the type that wanted to stay home.

I've always thought that I would have children and still work. Expect now that I am a mom, I would LOVE to SAH. I also wished I would have planned better to allow me to do that, but I really didn't think about it. I just thought that if I wanted to stay home I could. It's just not an option for us. Rob tells me everyday that he wished he made more to allow me to stay home. I'm sure someday it will happen, I just wished it happened now! I also do LOVE my job, so I'm inbetween a rock and a hard place. I feel so guilty for wanted to work and guilty for not wanting to work. I guess, right now, it's a good fit for me to work. I just keep telling myself that it will happen.
