If the little 2-inch fetus is down near my pubic hair line (that's where I find it with the doppler), then why is my gut pooching out starting just below my boobs???

Your uterus is pushing things up. The first thing that pops on me is the top of my stomach. Even at 20 weeks the top of my stomach is bigger than the bottom.

Yes as your uterus grows out of the pelvic cavity, it usually pushes your other organs upwards (and eventually outwards!). This is also why your chest diameter increases--eventually your organs end up partially in your ribcage.

I've never had that cute little paunch thingy, my belly has always started right below the boobage. I'm short, though. I think taller people have more room for all their guts so they're the ones that get the little basketball.

Good, glad it's not only me that was wondering this! What is worse is when someone wants to touch your belly at this point. They're not touching baby, that would be pure stomach and mostly FAT from all of the white, refined carbs I've had to eat to not feel nauseous:) yes, very squishy.

It is good to know it's not just me. I see all of those cute little basketballs walking around and mine starts under my bbs. It's a good thing they're huge too, because that ball is a bit hidden!
