Everything with Miss Sadie looks fine- her heartbeat was great and my uterus is measuring on track.

Sarah if your doctor isn't worried then I don't think you should be, especially if you are growing right on track. Has your nausea subsided? Or is that still the issue? Just curious... Oh, I seem to have found a bit of extra weight if you want me to send it your way, I'd be happy to. ;)

I know a couple girls who had only gained somewhere between 5- 15 lbs and still had good size babies.

I'm glad your uterus is measuring on track, that is more important than your weight. Was your weight gain/loss with Ethan much different? It's funny how pregnancies and women can be so different. You hear of women gaining lots of weight and having teeny babies and itty bitty ladies having 10+ lb babies. It seems the one thing we all have in common is the worry. Hugs

You are just moving right along. So glad all is well with Sadie.

If your doctor is not concerned then I wouldn't be as well.

i agree that if your doc isn't concerned than you don't need to be. with my first dd i lost a lot of weight, gained it back, and only gained 15 lbs on top of that. the doc was worried for me because i am very tiny, but the baby always showed fine. she ended up being 7lb 2oz at birth and was 2 days early. with my 2nd dd i lost more weight, gained it back and only gained 10 lbs on top if that. she was 6lbs 8oz at birth, but 9 days early. as long as the baby is getting the nurishment that it needs, it will keep growing and thriving regardless of your weight gain or loss.

I agree with the PPs. As long as your doctor isn't concerned and the baby is measuring fine that's all you need to worry about. I'm almost 17 weeks and I have get to gain anything either. (I too am overweight to begin with) I had gone up 2 pounds, but then they started having me test my glucose for threatening GD and I'm eating better and I lost those 2 pounds.

Sarah - If your dr isn't concerned, then I'm sure you are OK.

That all sounds great, Sarah! And I agree with the pps, if your doc isn't worried, then I'm sure everything is fine. You're just lucky!!

I agree with Candace. Let the doc worry for you!

Um, on what planet are you chubby? Not this one, that's for sure.

As for the weight issue, what matters most is how Sadie is growing. If she is growing normally and well, the rest is moot! There is actually very little research that supports any kind of weight gain recommendation, it's mostly guesswork on the part of the medical community. Just make sure you're getting lots of nutrients, being faithful to your vitamins, and eating regularly!
