what kind of feeling when baby moves???

Just wondering what it feels like when the baby starts to move. I'll be in my 19th week this week, and I think I'm feeling something, but I'm not sure if I'm just imagining it or that I'm just gaseous hehe. It feels like a little twitch. At first I thought I was just gaseous, but then it wasn't making me want to release the "air."

This is the first time I made it this far in my pregnancy, so I have no clue... Can you tell me what your experiences were like when you first started to feel your baby move???

TIA

A lot of people say it feels like a flutter, but I have never felt that.

It does sound like you are feeling the baby move :) At first mine was more like a popping sensation- like popcorn, since it has progressed to tapping or a thud (he or she is getting stronger). Usually I feel it when I am laying down or sitting quietly. I am 21w1d today but I started feeling the baby right around where you are now.

Hope that helps and so glad that you are feeling the baby!! Hugs, Amy

Thanks, Lori. Mine's not consistent right now, but it's definitely there. This is very neat!!! :)

Thanks for your response. Tap inside the belly sounds similar to what I'm feeling. I've never felt this before, so it's very exciting. :)

Well Matthew felt like someone was inside me pinching me. They also felt like little thumps, but most people say it feels like butterflys. Yes the twitching feeling is also something I got for a little bit, but I of course had no idea either that it was the baby.

Thanks, Amy. When I said I felt gaseous, it was because I had the popping sensation, like when you feel when there's gas trying to pass through the intestine. hehe But when you said it feels like "popcorn" popping, I totally understood. I'm glad you've made it this far, too!!!

Thanks, Jenn. I still haven't felt any "thumps" but I'll be looking forward to that. I haven't seen the baby since my 12th week appointment, and I've been nervous about my big sonogram next Friday, so it's reassuring that this "feeling" is probably the baby moving.

I felt it exactly like you are describing... I didn't realize it was the baby moving until I was in the bath one day and saw my belly move when I felt the "gas". Then I was like, OH! It's the BABY!

I also never felt the "flutter" feeling people write about.

So - that's probably the baby you feel moving!
