Anterior placenta & movement @ 18w

Hi ladies. =)

I know I shouldn't be worrying, but I am anyway. 'Tis the day in the life of a PAL, right? ;)

Anyway, I'm 18w along today and by this point in my pregnancy with Ryan, I was feeling some consistent movement - even though I wasn't positive that was what I was feeling since it was my first pregnancy to reach that point. I've felt some random and quick pokes over the last few weeks, but they've been almost non-existent in the last week. And, if it weren't for the doppler and knowing that Gummy is okay, I'd be riddled with real worry that something was seriously wrong.

At my NT/ultrascreen appointment, the u/s tech mentioned that my placenta is in front this time, but I didn't really think it would interfere with my noticing movement - but I guess it has. Or, should I be worried that I'm not feeling more? Gummy definitely has all his/her appendages and the noises that come through the doppler are interesting - plus his/her constant dodging of the transducer - but my weary mind can't help but worry. =(

Have any of you experienced this, with not feeling movement b/c of an ant. placenta? If so, you can just tell me to stop worrying so darn much. ;)

Thanks, girls!

Totally was the same! I didn't feel Gavin consistantly until about 21-22 weeks because of an anterior placenta.

I could've wrote that myself two months ago! I was feeling movement daily with Isabelle by about 16-17 weeks or so and didn't even feel a freaking flutter or anything with this kid until 19 weeks. They're all different.

Me too. With my son, the placenta was in the back so I felt movement really early(15 wks) but I was closer to 17wks before I felt much this time and I had an anterior placenta. Totally normal!

Thanks for all the reassurances, ladies. It's nice to know that I'm normal ... at least in this respect. :D

I agree with what the other girls have already told you. I have an anterior placenta and I felt movement much later and I think maybe less than some of the other girls here, but as he or she grows more you'll be able to feel more - I feel arms and legs all the time at the moment! And remember - different babies have different levels of activity too! Hope this helps!

Me too - including being able to feel him better from the outside than the inside at times! I didn't feel identifiable movement until around 20 weeks, and I think I still miss a lot of what's goign on in there. At our 4D, I could see him kicking and couldn't feel it. When I do feel a lot of movement, it's always on the right side of my belly.
