Here I go worrying again!

My next appointment is next Tuesday - I'll be 18 weeks. My first appt. was at 10 weeks, and they always schedule in four week increments.

Hi Tiffany,

I'm not sure since I don't have any experience with it yet, but from what I understand they can see gender and everything at 18 weeks. It does seem to make sense that they might be able to see things better at 20 weeks since the baby will be bigger, but I'm not an expert. If your doctor wants to do it then, it's probably fine. :) I'm having mine at 20 weeks with a perinatologist - like Jen, my regular doctor does my 4 week appointments but she sends everyone to the peri for NT scans, anatomy scans, etc., and the peri doesn't do it before 20 weeks.

Thanks girls!

It's not that I don't want to do it NOW, I just want the best possible info.

Hi Tiffany!

My scan is scheduled for 18w too. With DS, my scan was at 18w and we saw everything JUST fine. In fact, a girlfriend of mine is pregnant with twins and this week she had her scan at 16 weeks and they were able to see her two boys just fine too.

Good luck with your scan...I know it can't come soon enough!

Thanks Jen! Glad to know it's not just me. My OB does have a 4D ultrasound, maybe that gives clearer pics?

It's now less than 24 hours away...ugh!
