18 week update... still ticking along!

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a few weeks and thought I should give a "nothing eventful here" update in case any of you were wondering. I've really found that my anxiety around the pregnancy is subsiding (though not gone, of course!), so I've been less focused on this board lately. I used to check it multiple times a day, rather obsessively. Yeay for subsiding anxiety! I hope you other 2Tri ladies are experiencing the same!

I'm 18 weeks now, and feeling good. I have a sizeable bump, and am feeling true kicks. (I started feeling movement at around 14 weeks but it was really the last couple of weeks that I felt for-sure kicks, like someone flicking me from the inside.) I don't have my anatomy scan until 21 weeks, and my first midwifery appointment keeps getting delayed due to her and my holiday plans. I think I see her at around 22 weeks now. I made an interim appt. with my family doc just to do a hb check, measure my uterus, do a bp and weight check, etc., though I almost felt calm enough to just skip out and wait for my appointment with my midwife! Probably a good idea to get in to make sure nothing is awry, though. Wouldn't be good to let a higher-than-normal bp go or something.

Anyway, that's about all from me. I'm pregnant enough now that someone offered me a seat on the subway the other day while on holidays in Toronto (and people almost never do that... even for really pregnant ladies!). I guess I'm truly past the "maybe she just ate too much at lunch" stage.

Hope you're all doing well. I've been enjoying catching up on the updates of a few of us who are due around the same time.

:-) MamaMedbh
