PAL brain at work. Does anyone else also have an anterior placenta? I am still not feeling any movement. It leads the mind to worry. I am hoping she's ok in there. My big u/s is scheduled for Friday.. but it seems so far away!

Cindy, I bet during the ultrasound you will see the baby kicking and punching and moving all over the place. Depending on your uterus, body shape, and the baby's position, it can be difficult to feel the baby move before 20 weeks. But if you are concerned you can always call the dr's office/nurse help line.

I hope all goes well for you on Friday!
Please let us know whatever you find out :)

Hi Cindy,
I have an anterior placenta too so I understand your concerns. It seems too early to worry about not feeling any movement. My midwife said that with an anterior placenta it might take a few weeks after you hop into the second half of the pregnancy to feel some good kicks. I could feel some movement rather early (from 16 weeks, around the belly button) but it is only now (I will be 22 weeks tomorrow) that I feel actual kicks and punches - some days our boy seems to be having an aerobics party in there while others, he is so quiet that really worries me. Mostly I can see my belly change shape - usually a hill forms on the right side.
Anyhow, I talked to my midwife about the movement last week and she was convinced it is nothing to worry about (frequency, intensity) since it is too early and the anterior placenta makes it more difficult.
So exciting that you have your ultrasound this Friday. I am sure they will be able to reassure you then.

For a wonderful appointment this Friday,
Vellia

I will be 26 weeks tomorrow and finally feel movement on a daily basis, due to the AP.
