Maureen you certainly have been hit with a lot in the last several weeks. Sorry this is another thing to worry about. Sending hugs your way!

Maureen-

It's good to see a post from you- but I'm sorry about the news. You're doing the right thing by being positive and grateful about the fact that you're in the 3T and baby is healthy! Just keep focusing on that my dear!

Love.....

Oh, honey, that sucks! **HUGS** Basically, the endocrinologist is going to give you a special diet to eat (DH edited to say: "Read 'crappy diet'") like diabetics have to eat; basically, lots of complex carbs and protein to keep your blood sugar levels stable. They'll also let you know whether you need to take insulin (don't worry, even if you do, it's only for the duration of the pg) and recommend that you exercise regularly to help maintain the sugars (can you tell I come from a long line of diabetics?). The main concern with GD is having the baby be "too big" (generally, 9-10 lbs is the line), and the possibility of baby being born hypoglycemic. They'll monitor baby's size (often with late u/s, so yay for extra u/s), but as long as you keep your blood sugar in check, GD shouldn't be a big deal.

Also, so don't beat yourself up for being unhappy with the diagnosis--hearing you have diabetes of any sort SUCKS! You're totally welcome to throw yourself a little "My 3T should better!" pity party--but I'm sending you lots of ***everything else go GREAT*** vibes :)
