I need some advice on ML. My employer allows you to go on ML 4 weeks before your date unless your doctor says you can stay. Now this time is paid and its use it or lose it which means that I can’t tack it on at the end to be able to spend more time with the baby. Next Friday will be exactly 4 weeks from my due date. So far I’ve had a pretty normal and uneventful pregnancy other than the 4 hours I spent in L & D on Saturday b/c I was having BH’s every 6 minutes. Everything was fine thank god. But I really have no medical justification for leaving early other than I can’t do the commute anymore. I don’t want my employer to think I can’t handle a pregnancy b/c I don’t know how many women take advantage of these 4 weeks. I just want to be home and I have a few things I want to prepare and have ready before the big arrival.

Heck no you are not acting like a baby!!! Take the leave if you can!!!

TAKE IT!!!
My only question is this: are you going to go nuts sitting at home for 4-6 weeks waiting for that baby?
Personally, I think I would stay a bit longer, but I telecommute, so I'm already at home, though I'm working. If I had to go somewhere everyday, it might be a different story. If you think you might just get too bored, see if there are some projects you can work on at home or split the difference and work two weeks, or work three days a week, or whatever else may make sense.
(Yikes, my inner work-aholic sure comes out sometimes, huh? Keep that in mind before you take my advice!! heheheheh)
Hi. Im just a lurker on the 3T board, hoping to make it down here someday...
I'M TAKING THE LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!! You ladies have conviced me. I was really on the fence about it but after all of your responses and experiencing a very bad commute this morning, I've decided I rather be home. Believe me
