Yay...I'm here in the 3rd trimester. This pregnancy has been about reaching one milestone, then the next, and the next. Reaching the 3rd trimester is really big for me and a huge sigh of relief. The next milestone will be 32 weeks. I have an ultrasound on Thursday to measure amnio fluid. I had low amnio fluid problems last pregnancy so they're just going to keep tabs on it. I feel like everything is okay, but there is always this huge cloud of doubt, as you all probably understand.

One great thing is that I have really gotten a grasp on the hypoglycemia. It was really difficult to balance for a few weeks there, but it sure is nice to have that under control now. I don't know if that is going to continue after the pregnancy or not.

Sarah, I seem to have very little memories of BH. I do seem to recall that there wasn't pain associated with them, but just tightness. I might just call and ask the nurse on call. They are always a wealth of information.

Amy, I'll be thinking of you on Thursday. I'm sorry that you've had to go thru all of that worry. I hope that everything looks great and the numbers are within range.

With the onset of the 3rd trimester a wave of panic has overtaken me. The nesting is in absolute high gear around here and all of a sudden I'm wondering where the new baby is going to sleep, when are we setting stuff up, etc, etc... I'm sure that it's going to all work out fine, but when I woke up yesterday and realized that this is the 3rd, and final, trimester, I had a mini panic attack. One thing for sure is that we do have everything for a baby seeing as that we have a toddler, but actually figuring out where everything is, washing it, and getting ready is the part that I'm a bit stuck on. I'm sure that I'll mellow out soon.

Hope you all have a great week!
Karen

Hi guys,
It is kind of nice to be without holiday decorations, huh? I feel like it was crazy what with getting the baby's room ready and doing xmas stuff. It was a little overwhelming!
Sarah--for me BH don't feel like menstrual cramps but more like pressure as if someone was giving my uterus a tight squeeze. I get them a lot when I am on walks and if I wait too long to pee. I have had more menstrual-like cramps the last few days but they come and go and feel very different than the BH I've been having.
Karen-- I know how you feel with the nesting and feeling like you don't have much time. I have gotten myself into tears a lot lately with feeling like no matter what I do or buy I'm still not ready! Eek! I could be trying to cover up my anxiety about birthing her with getting her stuff ready--I need to reflect a little on that.
Amy--I am sorry, too, that you have had to deal with all of this scary stuff. I am thinking of you.

Good Morning everyone!

Karen, welcome to the 3T!

Amy, sorry about your work/leave problems. I currently hate men myself (I'm assuming your boss's boss is a man, no woman would be so stupid). I found out yesterday that my firm has instituted a new maternity leave policy, basically because there are 3 pg associates currently. So now we are getting screwed - I am getting FIVE weeks of leave. I cried all day yesterday.

And Amy, good luck at your u/s!

Hope all the people who are feeling tired and crappy feel better today. Alice, maybe we'll be reading about your trip to the hospital later!!! So exciting!

Will chat more later, must go to work : (.

Hello ladies,

Anyone else feeling horrible? All weekend I felt so bad. I was getting sharp pains in my cervix and then later the baby was rolling around hurting me. This week I am emotionally drained.

My birthday was on Saturday. It was also Ameerah's due date. She would have been one. Last night my Uncle passed away.....It's been a tough week to say the least....I stayed home from work today because I couldn't handle it emotionally.

I am so ready to have this baby already. The worrying is taking it's tole also...Ok Calgone take me away! hehe.

Megan, that sucks about the maternity leave. Can't you apply for Family Medical Leave? My work gives us 6 weeks off and then we can apply for FMLA which brings the total to 4 months. After the 4 months we can apply for a bonding time. I forget the leave term for it but that's another 3 months so 7 in total. I'm in California though so maybe the laws are different elsewhere?
