What a night!

I was settling in to go to sleep last night when I started getting a pain in my lower back. The pain kept getting more and more intense and then the top of my uterus started burning. I couldn't stay laying down the pain was too much. My DH got out the "birthing ball" aka yoga ball and made me lean against it. After birthing class he's all about the birthing ball!

I sat on the floor leaning against the ball rocking back and forth. My little kitty Sophie kept coming over and licking my legs. I wasn't sure if I was having back contractions. I told DH to get me some water and I took a Tylenol PM. Thank GOD the pain eased up and I was able to lay back down. I'm pretty sure I was having back contractions. I do have pills to stop contractions but I don't want to take them unless necessary.

I had a very restless night. My right ribs are killing me! My little boy is bundled up right under my ribs. Seriously, there is a huge bulge on my side where he is all curled up. I've tried everything to get him to move but he's refusing!

Anyway, I just wanted to whine a little bit! DH is I think at his whine tolerating level lol.

Yusra,
I was having a little wrestling match with my little girl last night---I couldn't get comfy b/c she was all balled up on the right side. It looked like my stomach was sloped like crazy. So I tried to remember what my yoga teacher had said were good for making space for baby. So..I did pelvic tilts, hip circles and then finally sat with my feet touching (butterfly stretch) and that seemed to help. Maybe try one of those next time? These little babies are stubborn!

I'm so sorry you had such a terrible night, Yusra! I'm glad the contractions stopped! I think we are all not sleeping anymore! Hang in there! You're almost to the end!

You can whine all you want!! I'm glad to hear it's not just me - Will only likes my right side too for some reason. I think he gets his foot stuck in my ribs from time to time too.

Maybe we'll all sleep well tonight. Hahahahaha!

Whine on, girl! I'm pretty sure that whenever I even open my mouth lately, my husband turns the volume off and says, 'oh, that's rough'. Whatever! There are so many parts of your physical, mental, and emotional being that are being totally taxed here!

So glad to hear that the pain went away. Does the little guy change position at all when you lie on one side or the other? Maybe that would help when you're trying to sleep.

I wish you a good nights sleep!
Karen

I hope your little man has straightened out for you and you were able to get some better rest! Sounds like a rough night! I guess that's the one positive to a breech baby...no rib pain. LOL

Yusra,

That totally sounds like the contractions I had! hehe.

Here's a trick I had to use with Gavin when he just got too far up into my ribs and it hurt-- an ice pack. Just stick it on the spot that you want them to move away from and they will eventually move. I think I spent a lot of my last few weeks with a bag of frozen peas to get his butt out of my ribs. hehehe.
