Hi ladies - So I got my BFP last week and we're trying to be optimistic...but as you know, it's pretty hard!

I had decided that I didn't want to make an appt to check my HCG because I didn't want to stress out over the numbers, but I'm wondering about getting my progesterone checked.

Congratulations and welcome!

It is hard to stay positive, but we're here for you and we all understand. As far as progesterone goes, I'd go ahead and get tested if I were you. Mine was slightly low...not a major deficiancy, but enough to need a supplement. From what I understand, progesterone can't hurt anything if you take it but it can definitely help if you need it.

I wish you the best and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Congrats on your BFP, what you could do is request the BW for the prog and tell them to only call if there is need for a prescription. However if you have BW the Dr will prolly want to do your HCG to confirm PG.

Congrats again and KUP

Welcome to PAL and congrats on your BFP!

As for the progesterone, I would seriously consider getting it checked.

Welcome to PAl. I'm wishing you the best of luck during your pregnancy.

I think you should go have your levels checked to be proactive. Getting your levels checked may give your doctor a better idea on how to care for your pregnancy. You can get your progesterone checked. My progesterone levels were always normal but I was put on progesterone suppositories and shots during my sucessful pregnancy. As soon as I stopped taking the shots my water broke. I definately think the extra boost of progesterone helped!

Some doctors believe in it, some don't. Find out what your doctor believes in. I definately know it helped me.
