Hi there,
I am so glad to have joined this board after experiencing two losses. First one Dec 31 2007 at 6w6d and Feb 11 2008 7weeks, but thought we were 10 weeks along.
I have been very proactive and requested to be seen by a RE after first loss, first appointment was cancelled as I got pregnant. After our second loss I got into see the RE and requested blood work be done to check for clotting issues/immune issues as I have Arthritis (AS) and Crohns. She said they usually wait till 3 losses, I told her 2 was two many and to run the test.
Today I found out I am pregnant :) I went to the doctor's right away to get a prescription for progesterone as advised by my Gyn-obyn. ( he is not in the office till wed.) I also got the results from my fertility clinic today that I tested positive for Anti-phospholipid antibody. I have an appointment to see a specialist Dr. Carl Laskin (rumatologist and RE specializing in RPL and immune issues) the purpose of the appointment was to try to get me back on arthritis medication, but I do not want to go on any I would rather suffer than put my baby at risk. Okay so my question is....I have a week till I see this doctor and I wonder if I should be on low dose aspirin and heparin and is it okay to wait till next week. I know you are not doctors but just wondering if any others have had to go on asprin and heparin and when did you start this in your pregnancy.
I would appreciate any advice.
Angela :)

Welcome to the board..Congrats on your BFP!
I don't have any experience with asprin or heparin but there are many women here who have. I'm sure they will give you a wealth of information. I can answer any progesterone questions though!
Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Angela,
Welcome and congratulations. I am sorry for your losses. I've been through two as well.
After my second, I went through all of the testing. I started taking one baby asprin per day before I got my positive test, and I started progesterone the same day I got a positive test. I stopped the progest. at 13 weeks, but continue to take the asprin.
I hope that helps a little...that's just my experience, so your dr might tell you to do something different. I wish you the best, and I hope to hear good updates from you!
Looking forward to getting to know you,
Molly
Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to PAL!
