First of all...I am so sorry about the bleeding. Really it could go either way, but I am wondering why your doctor didn't at least start with an ultrasound? At 7 weeks you should be able to see the sac and even a fetal pole. It just seems easier and quicker than making you wait for all the comparitive blood draws. Hmmm....I wish I knew what else to say sweetie. Just hang in there and don't count yourself out yet. Have you had any cramping? GL and please KUP!
Hugs, I hope you get some answers soon. Maybe calling the dr and letting them know what happened and they can start from there. KUP on your results from tomorow and GL
I think sometimes bleeding doesn't mean a m/c...obviously, sometimes it does. But your dr is really the only one who can tell you for sure. I know it is really hard to wait, and I'm sorry you're having to go through this.
Hopefully they will give you an u/s soon so you can see what is going on. Please let us know.
any way they can get you in for an u/s today or tomorrow. I know the er is no fun but they will give you an u/s and you will know instead of having to wait??? I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I am sending you sticky baby vibes. I know that my sister in law had a similar episode of bleeding and it was just a small hemorage (misspelled i know) and the baby was fine! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh, Patti, I'm so sorry = drs have told me, bleeding in early pg is common; they told me that about 25% of pg have some bleeding in the first trimester. Your dr should most definitely do an u/s immediately, though, because very heavy bleeding (soaking more than one pad in an hour) can be a bad sign.
As for hCG levels, here's a link that may be helpful, or may not: http://www.bobrow.net/kimberly/birth/hcglevels.html Personally, both drs I have been to have disagreed with the numbers here (and the ranges are HUGE). My last hCG lvl was just under 1,000 (at 6wk after LMP), and my dr said that was low; she actually predicted that I was only about one week pg...but now I am thinking that maybe she was just saying that because the u/s tech couldn't find anything...
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone! Bleeding does not necessarily mean that you're baby is in trouble, sos keep thinking positively. I found keeping a pg journal has helped me a lot, and I've always really disliked keeping journals ;) lol It has helped me work out dates, and somehow, it helps to write in future appointments, and what transpired at them when they happen. It just helps me feel more in control of a very frustrating & vulnerable time.
Keep us posted, please; you'll be in my thoughts =]
