I have a question for all of you who believe that life begins at conception (fertilization.) What birth control method are you using?

EXACTLY!!!! To have a hand in its cause is abortion IMO. That's why I will never use the pill, Depo, Norplant, the patch, or the IUD.

Yes, you have certainly helped me out. Yours was the most helpful and informative post thus far. You actually listened to my beliefs and responded accordingly, rather than tried to convince me that the pill was "okay." Maybe I should have been more clear in my original post that I will NOT take the pill because I believe it causes abortions. BTW, it sounds like you have a GREAT doctor.

"Maybe I should have been more clear in my original post that I will NOT take the pill because I believe it causes abortions."

I think it is reasonable to tell you that not allowing a fertilized egg to implant is very RARE. If you don't want to take that chance, fine.

I believe that educating women/people is one of the primary reasons for this board. We have had posters on here that believe that preventing implantation is the PRIMARY means of pregnancy prevention, when using hormonal contraceptives..... that is simply wrong.

People's beliefs do change, especially when presented with more information than they previously had. If your beliefs on this topic are set in stone, that is fine, then I'm glad someone could help you with the NFP information. My beliefs on this topic aren't going to change either..... I believe that preventing implantation is NOT abortion, and even abortion is not always the wrong choice.

I'm going to stop before I provoke a debate..... I feel very strongly on this topic!!!!

Good Luck to you, I hope your chosen method works very well for you.

iposh says, "We need access to info on birth control that doesn't violate our beliefs--not convincing that our worries are silly."

I totally agree, which is why I was suggesting the possibility of combining the pill or any method with FAM - and why I never suggested that mrsalwriter's concerns were 'silly'.

"If you are trained in the method, you don't need hormones."

Again, I agree that FAM *can* be highly effective on its own.
