is this normal? I got the Copper IUD put in on wednesday, by friday night I was bleeding heavily with some clotting and still cramping..(I still am) I can't get to the doctor until monday.. I was wondering if this is normal or should I be worried? has anyone else ever had this happen to them?

Some bleeding and cramping often occur after insertion of an IUD. I think you are probably ok. I’m sure some of the members who have IUDs will share their experiences.
Good luck

I was told there would be craping and some "spotting", which I did had the first day, but outright bleeding I wasn't prepared for.
Good luck!
I had mine inserted during my anual exam..we timed it that way so I didn't have to go through the speculum stuff twice..lol my cycle ended a week before my exam. i'm still bleeding quite heavily, so I called my doc and she said it's normal, but if it doesn't slow down by the end of the week to come back in and she'll re`check it. I take a multi vitamin with iron normaly, and have been taking Mortin for the cramps.
I sure hope it gets better, because I have other medical problems which prevent me from taking anything with hormones, so my choices for BC are kinda limited.
